you get it from sourceforge as a patch and it's installed (applied to the source code) like any other patch. So you have to be able to compile in order to use it.

Well... this is considered as cheating by most of the popular servers, if not all. Did you not understand what I wrote or do I missunderstand you? Sorry then, my english might look good, as some people say, but sometimes I don't get every meaning. To clarify... The shot guide I implemented as a pat...

/silence does not work

Hi! Yesterday there was a really annoying person on a map. He didn't play but just connected to insult everyone. /poll ban didn't work because people either don't see that a poll is going on or don't know how to vote. Then I tried /silence STUPIDPERSON'S NAME and this (as I saw afterwards) appeared ...

Or even better: Display it where the ID flag displays it's message. That won't be overwritten, right!?

Shot guide

Inspired by this post I've implemented a simple patch that just draws a straight line on the radar from your tank. Seeing that others see this as cheating, I want to discuss how this could be best implemented (by me). How do you like these ideas. as an option so you can switch it on or off on the op...

YOUR FLAG WAS STOLEN BY ... message

Inspired by this post I'm asking: Could a server message like "YOUR FLAG WAS STOLEN BY ..." be implemented in 2.1?

It's frustrating if you don't hear the drop sound which sometimes happens and notice too late that your flag is gone.

So convince someone that this is a good idea. TBH: Back in 1986, when I was in my 3rd Semester, we had to program a maze. Our team leader, an older semester, wanted us to implement some mouse movement like you described. All of us easily convinced him that some other means of moving will 100% be bet...

Nah...

It will be extremly difficult to control. especially if you want to click at the same time.

But bzflag is open source. So go ahead and implement it.

There needs to be some sort of delay to prevent this sort of thing, either that or an admin who watches everything and uses human judgment as to whether or not capping is okay. Maybe the delay could be: As long as you are holding the flag, capping is allowed. As soon as you loose it, being you got ...

Re: Joystick only moves in 2 directions

I remember having the same problem. It was easily fixed by assigning the "Joystick X Axis and Joystick Y Axis appropriately (0 and 1) in BZFLAG's Option Menu.

I still think the best way to dodge a GM is to drive in circles around the GMer... I like it driving around the GMer's favourite tower on badgerking making him spend all his GMs for me ;-)

BZFlag in 3D through Pulfrich Effect

I read the other thread about 3D and while I was searching for my 3D glasses, I found my Pulfrich-Effect 3D Glasses . I just had a quick test and it looks really funny playing with them. You don't need to make any special setup to bzflag, just keep moving and you'll notice the 3D Illusion. For those...

P.S. A tip for all: In the meantime, I'm sending off for my free red/cyan glasses . :) And for the german watchers, which can't send an SASE (Self Addressed, Stamped Envelop) to the US: Currently BMW sends out some stuff to advertise a new Roadster, including free Red/Cyan Glasses - you have to off...

Re: More view modes (stereo, in particular)

Ideally, I imagine two additional options: "parallel" and "crosseyed" for the -view option. Parallel would render a left-eye view on the left side of a split screen and right-eye on the right side (using the same methods as the "stacked," since it doesn't appear to require any special hardware supp...

I know this back from 1982 or so, when I played "Attack of the mutant Camels" on my C64. You could play it with the keys that corrosponded to the joystick direction. They were located where in the upper left region of the keyboard. I was quite good in it. When I bought a Joystick, I couldn't get pas...
