Maps

I use a 3d modeler (LightWave) for the most part. The only complaint I have with it right now is that I can't figure out how to export texture coordinates so that multiple polygons' surfaces line up correctly. Anyway, that and a text editor is all that was used.

Island Hopping Map REV 1

Attached is a slightly revised Island Hopping map. I have reduced the number of lasers to 2 and I have reduced the max shots of the laser to 10. I have also reduced the GM max shots to 15. Other changes: 'lowered' water level and the sailboats' level so that the sailboats don't appear to be floating...

Very Nice!

Checked out the map - very nice! We'll be leaving UT2003 in the dust soon. The server you put up is very fast and should draw in a great crowd. Stupendous!

llol - very good

Island Hopping Map & Screenshots

Attached is my "Island Hopping" map with a couple screenshots. It is being served at louman.homelinux.net:5154 right now, but please feel free to host on a different server if you have a decent connection. :) Also feel free to extract meshes from map if required...

BZFlag Rocks! Map

Just completed a pretty simple map, hopefully it will be fun. It is being hosted at louman.home.linux.net:5150 right now. I was experimenting with the vector graphic import utility on my 3d editor - see screenshots in next post.

Columns & Rivers Map

I don't understand - your PC couldn't handle it? It is only 82 KB. Also, you will not be able to edit this map (or any others with new version 2.0 features) with bzedit - if you need to modify it, you will need to use a text editor and understand some of the basic 'language' used in bzw files now. S...

Get rid of mountains in background?

Anyone know if it is possible to disable or somehow mask the mountains in the background? I am contemplating a map that is set next to the sea, and the mountains do not fit into the scheme of things...

Collaborator Project

Please let me know more about the collaborator project - I've not heard of this. I would be willing to work on 2.0 objects (meshes) as time permits. I would leave any map layout tasks to others - I'm a bit burnt out on that part of making maps. I would also be willing to make evaulations of any work...

Bridges Map Available For Hosting

I have attached the Bridges map that I am currently running on my server. Although I enjoy hosting it, I would much rather see it run on a better connection (I only have 256 kbs up). If you use this on a server, please give some sort of credit to me for the map

Exported LightWave OBJ Converter

I have been asked to post the VERY simple OBJ converter I created for my map making. This is a very small, untested Windows application with very limited use - it will only convert exported LightWave OBJ files into mesh 'language' for insertion into a bzw file. For that matter, it will not convert n...

I thought about such a map, and saw that "Urban Jungle" was done successfully by Army of One. His map is a good one, and I don't want to be a copycat  BTW, I have released one more map, a red vs blue CTF named "Bridges" now being served on louman.homelinux.net:5154. This on...

Setting up the server for public

Attach your .conf file text so that I can take a look at it. Also, what exactly happens when your server crashes? Are you behind a firewall? Also, you may want to try adding the '-p 5123' option to the .conf file. This is an example of one of my .conf files: #Public network address for the server -p...

Setting up the server to the public

You do not have to set up groups and users if you do not want to. I have only recently added that feature to my servers, because I am having trouble keeping up with them; I am recruiting a few 'cops' right now. Basically, once you add your -public and -publicaddr line to your .conf file(s), you shou...

Looks good - what is the box in the middle? Kinda looks out of place...

Again, thanks - when are you going to put it on the list server?
