one more thing tho, is there any thing in ubuntu that is like a windows batch file for rotation? you know with a list of the configs and a restart command Yeah, there's batch files in Linux, though we usually call them 'shell scripts'. Have a look at the wiki for a rotation script: http://my.bzflag...

its very simple with windows and the bzfs.exe but i dont know if thats what it is called or where it is located, please help Assuming you've started bzfs.exe from a DOS prompt, I've found it to be even easier on Linux machines, since you don't NEED to find the bzfs executable. If you have it instal...

Funny, I just saw this exact same situation on an older computer just last week. You've got an Intel GMA graphics card, right? Going to Intel's website and installing the latest driver for that card fixed it for me. On the other hand, once I got the drivers installed, the graphics card had such crap...

You could try disabling the screenshot key in your config file. If you disabled it, and you're still getting screenshots piling up, that would eliminate the keypress possibilty.

Sounds like you've got a good start, but I'd seriously recommend not using something like Dreamweaver until you know HTML better. A program like Dreamweaver or GoLive works great, but they often act as a crutch to web designers. Learn CSS and HTML inside and out, then use Dreamweaver to speed the pr...

BZWTools looks good, but i dont have any expеrience with blender and as many times before I discover that GUI is confusing for me. Yeah, I felt that way for quite a while with Blender. There's so much going on. Have a look at the Blender 3D design course. He goes over all the basics methodically in...

I have to say that if I were looking to host a map, I'd want to see a few screen shots, and be able to download the map to examine the file, especially from somebody who's new to map making. Honestly, Delta Lead, your map, were it "stolen" wouldn't be worth much at all, no matter how good it is. Thi...

One more thing: have a look at the bzfs man page: http://linux.die.net/man/6/bzfs A man page is a Linux (maybe OSX?) thing that gives you a bit of help using a command. In this case, bzfs (the server) It usually lists the basic syntax of using the command, and has a listing of what each switch does.

Or, you can use the -public option, and use -advertise option to only advertise to your group members. That way, only the people you want to have join your server can see the server on the list.

Aren't you supposed to use: kwin --replace or metacity --replace and compiz --replace to change window managers? It might be easier to help you choose a name if we had something to see....

It's fine if you're not done, but there's not much point in announcing it if there's nothing to see. The name should be the last thing you do. A good, finished map is the first thing.

It means that the time it takes for an event to happen at the server to show up on your computer and vice versa is too long. It means that if you have a high lag (> 300 milliseconds) it will look like bullets are passing through your tank when they shoot at you. Make sure that you are not using your...

Adding music wouldn't be such a good idea for bzflag.... if your using Windows Media Player on a pc & you have a keyboard that has like a PLay, pause, and next and back buttons. You can use those buttons to control your music. That's what I do.... and you can do the same procedures for a MAC for li...

It sounds like you're trying to host on a computer that isn't attached directly to the router. That may or may not be a bad idea. Personally, I'd go with a wired connection - it's just simpler. Even better yet, I'd get a half-busted old computer, install some sort of minimalist Linux Distro on it, a...

Well boy, get readin' in the wiki! Google port forwarding while you're at it. If it sounds like people are being ambiguous, it's because every June, we get swamped with people who can't be bothered to read the wiki and read old forum posts. Ironically, it's usually the people who don't need to ask q...

What blast is probably getting at is that you can run a server on your own machine for testing without setting up a public server. It's enough to test your own map and plugins

Where can I find someone to host the server for me? First, figure out a good reason for somebody to give you shell access to their server machine. A good reason might be that you have a really cool map, or knowledge to give, or maybe you can be a _useful_ volunteer. Offering sizable chunks of money...
