Re: two hour limit on posting work around - file hosting

Just make a new post in the thread for that map release. As others stated, this creates a notification of an unread post, which should draw the viewers to the updated info. The ability to edit original posts to remove outdated versions of maps is a valid use case, but unfortunately is has been lost...

Re: two hour limit on posting work around - file hosting

Zehra interesting suggestion. but no third party file hosting. I am going with the last two post in this thread (by allejo and by tainn). The map poster is to bump the thread to top. Why not use file hosting services? Old files and accounts are deleted constantly or services just shut down; so many ...

two hour limit on posting work around - file hosting

I over heard/read in https://forums.bzflag.org/viewtopic.php?f=64&t=20144 @ahs3 Yes, currently there is a two hour limit, which hasn't changed from what I'm aware of. (See Posts? forum thread.) One thing to consider for updating map files without creating a new post, would be using a file hosting se...

Server List question - Protocol ID not starting with BZFS?

While at http://bzstats.strayer.de/servers/stats/?lang=en I noticed that BZFS is listed as the protocol and most of the servers on the list server ( http://my.bzflag.org/db/ ) start with BZFS, expect that there is/are some servers at rahab.fairserve.net that are listed as GCWZ0221. My question is, w...

Re: Server List question - different version of bzflag

At https://www.tt-forums.net/viewtopic.php?f=29&t=84733 Why are the other servers listed in the first place that a player can not connect to unless the same version? Red vs green. Note when you answer the question, be sure to exclude (not include) NewGRFs. Green vs yellow. The answer provided is Bec...

That works?

If so, for what OSs?

If for Unix/Linux, for how many (some, most)?

Server List question - different version of bzflag

Currently in Bzflag, the list server list only servers that you can connect to.

But in for example OpenTTD, even while you can not connect to the sever - the list shows what version the server will only accept.

Why can't BZflag do the same?

Please and thanks

Wiki about BZAuthd

REF = https://wiki.bzflag.org/BZAuthd * Issue one * The callsign and password are sent in clear text form to the list server and this is a risk to the users' privacy since they may use those passwords elsewhere. Re: Quick keys issue

Yes, those seem to be hard coded. You can change the behavior if you'd be okay with modifying the code and compiling. The actual handling of quick keys is in the doKeyPlaying function in playing.cxx and the menu text is defined in QuickKeysMenu.cxx . A simple change might just be changing the code ...

Without anyone needing to setup a server, after getting the file, in the file look for the keyword weapon and see that it/they says trigger oncap. And other that, no other weapons are preset.

Re: Breizh Wall

Looks like you were going for the "Classic" BZFlag sort of feel. Are all the blocks weaponized? It looks like based on the screenshot your tank will explode if touching them and I didn't pull up the world file yet. I downloaded this map, got a local server running with this map, got bzflag to solo ...
