Saitek P990 in linux

Just a PSA, no real need for anyone to reply. I recently got my hands on a saitek P990 USB controller and it works great in BZflag under linux. Might help someone out in the future. I'd imagine that it would under windows too. Don't know, I don't have windows anymore. If anybody's wondering, I'm run...

Observer waiting

I just had a quick thought... I've noticed increasingly that maps get full. I see it more lately. Maybe it's just me, or maybe increased BZflag downloads means more total players at any given time. Ehhh, I'll get to the point. One joins the server as a waiting observer, as opposed to just a regular ...

Getting sealed is a seemingly random bz event, occuring regardless of OS, etc. This topic, however, is about getting sealed repeated in the same place and the preliminary research conducted seems to suggest that this occurs only on linux clients. Have you ever tried the two tanks map? Don't get me ...

This is a mapside/clientside (correct me if im wring) issue, mac and windows users can also get stuck, It has to do with the physics of the game. NOT your OS it can also happen on maps other than "The Two Tanks" Well, perhaps I should've been more clear. The only place I've seen people ge...

part of bzflag (to me) that makes it so appealing is the simple graphics. w/ simple graphics, my not-so-decent graphics card can easily handle them. However, if they get 2 complex, as demonstrated by some of loumans verrrry textural maps (churchyard, desktop), my computer, and possibly other people...

AFAIK this only affects linux/BZflag users. I'm told that mac and windows users are unaffected. What's weird about it, at least in my case, is that I can run around on the red side tank/base all I want with no problems. But if I go on the blue side tank/base and I get sealed. I've only seen it on th...

I've seen this somewhere

I don't know if it was a plugin, or a hack, but I've seen a map wher when your tank blew up it sent out a shockwave. I remember it, and I think it was a mofo map because of how usually mofo maps have the "rampaging" then "killing spree" then "unstoppable" theme going on...

It should be relatively easy on something like a GM launcher replacement for a turret. Theoretically it's as simple as replacing one graphic call with another. A good portion of the "conversion" work should already done considering current flags that change looks such as tiny, narrow, and ...

Admin control option?

Perhaps this should be an option that's at least available for server admins. Admins can set the amount of wings/jumps, the amount of shots you can make, the shot limits on specific flags(GM flag auto drops after 15 shots).... Why not make the shield flag the same?(per the admin's whim) The shield f...

Glad to see others like my ideas. Naturally, they can be debated and modified. Spazzy: That was my thoughts exactly. Especially taking in consideration a flag like GM. A visual difference would be very detrimental if experienced players happen to be in close proximity. This could be better in some i...

Graphic tank conversions

Just a thought........ A few of the key flags would make the tanks look visually different on screen. There's already a few which do this now, that being a zoned tank(being somewhat seethrough) and cloak where the tank is gone. Tiny, obese, thief, masquerade and narrow. The one I had at the top of t...
