thanks

I saw that list, and fainted when I thought I had to add 50 people to the animation. So instead I put in the devs that post on the forum :). We appreciate all of them though. That's okay, the sentiment was still well placed and appreciated for all of the Devs, even any that may be missing. There's ...

Thank YOU

OMG! Hehe, that's pretty cool, RPG -- I loved it! Thank YOU. I'll make sure the others see it too. It's players and appreciation like yours that often make it all worth while. Very cool. ;)

Cheers!

Re: Shell Shock upgrade

Shell Shock will be undergoing an upgrade tonight, meaning it might be down for 30 minutes or so. Not many of the changes will be visible, it's more a 'behind the scenes' thingy. ...snip... Yay.. hopefully you'll be upgrading the hard drive and memory too! Maybe even upgrade the bandwidth so we can...

B) There ARE no people that usually build BZFlag Betas for Mac. C) anyone willing to team up to do this? Sure there ar...

admins are here to understand you

Scorch, you are now unprobationed. I don't think any of the admins is trying to harass you. There are base rules to the boards though to keep them interesting and to keep them from degenerating into unintelligent conversation. There's a lot of personalities to cater to and accommodate, but the admin...

lighting

i downloaded 10.3.7 and it still crashes! ill try the ap+s thing but not for a while You did disable lighting, yes? You need to disable lighting as that is most likely what is causing the crashes. (the fact that it's driver/card dependant is why the 10.3.7 update helped some people -- the problem i...

turn off lighting

nevermind I got windowed mode to run! but it isn't any different from fullscreen! there is no WINDOW in WINDOWED MODE! This is normal for 1.10.* as windowed mode was never implemented for that version. Try turning off Lighting on the options menu. That should stop the crashes. The problem should be...

list server chatter

I just tried "netstat -a" and got this: TCP <Mycomputername>:<port> bzflag.secretplace.us:80 TIME_WAIT. Why would this be there when I'm not playing the game? Port 80 is an http port, not a game port. Not sure what caused that. All communications with the list server are via HTTP on port 80. So whe...

Heya Dutchrai! Glad to hear you are reviving Shell Shock. Probably the best BZ user website that has yet to exist. Look forward to seeing what you come up with. The main Bz website has also been undergoing an overhaul as well. The pace is very slow, though. If you could ever be inticed to migrate so...

There are separate issues/bugs coming into play there. First, the reason no servers show up is due to a bug in the registration system. You can try using a longer callsign that does not include spaces or quotes to see if that helps. Also make sure you really are running the latest by doing a cvs upd...

After make, the bzflag binary sits in src/bzflag/bzflag. You can run that directly from there on the command line. After make install, the bzflag binary is (by default) installed as /usr/local/bin/bzflag. You can likewise run that on the command line. Converting the build from a unix tool to a doubl...

The XCode project is only updated prior to a release right now. So, no. If there's someone else who is willing to maintain the XCode project and keep it up to date, I'd be more than happy to get those changes in so that building with the XCode project actually works too. I've been looking for someon...

I'm not nearly as kind and generous for making the mac builds is one of the reasons why you don't see them posted. They take time and effort, and I'm rather lazy. ;)

I'll start making builds as more of the critical bugs get fixed and we get closer to release quality.

That atomacity.h error is a ppc gcc compiler bug. Until I get access to a box that exhibits that same problem, I can't really make a work-around for the compiler bug. It works for myself and other folks compiling on Mac OS X, so builds will still be made. And if one of us gets enough energy to put t...

The sample multilingual swear lists in the bzflag source distribution's misc/ directory include details on the format of the swear file: # They are sorted in alphabetical order with one word/phrase per line. *sigh* No offense intended, but if you can't make sense out of one of the four venues of already existing information that I just listed, it would be my strong opinion that you probably should really reconsider trying to run a server. There's quite a bit of existing information all over the place --...

Everything is fine with the PL build on a WinXP Pro, SP1 system. Except that no servers are found ... That's an issue that's being worked out still. If you can't find any servers, move your existing BZFlag config files out of the way temporarily and you should find the servers. If you don't know wh...

Re: bzadmin tool problem

There's not really a way to do that in 1.10 without modifying the client yourself. The next release includes a new /msg command (similar to use like /lagstats) that will let you do exactly that, though. It's just like an IRC /msg: /msg gsl The new /msg and /me commands are neat.. And yes, there is a...

There is a sample bzfs.conf file in the misc/ directory of the source distribution of the game. There's also an web page in there that visually shows you all of the options and lets you specify what you want named bzfs_conf.html in that same directory. You can get the source distribution from the fi...

And I have no problem trusting the developers at this point. I would question the "mostly" part though if it included some of the often over enthusiastic non developer members of this board. Those folk don't have commit access. Everyone who has access to make commits to BZFlag has a fairly clear un...
