Re: Please Read
Grace for instance I say exceptional on a server with errr idk, firing squad, and he doesn't ban me, gives me a light warning to calm down. Then I say wtf on a server with brad and he bans me. How is this a message? So admins make their own rules basically? I agree to a point and I must say some of...

Re: Please Read
It would seem that if you want your teammate to be able to play more matches, perhaps he should not use bad language? Seem Logical? Its very simple.

Re: Please Read
Could it be due to the increase in the use of bad language? If there is a crime spree in my home town, I certainly hope to see a increase in arrests. Perhaps everyone should just follow the rules, because children play this game. And as a parent myself, i would ban anyone who uses bad language on my...

Re: Randomly Rotated Blocks on a Map
bzfs generates ducati maps.
That generates a random map via bzfs, there are many other options for that on the wiki. ---> http://wiki.bzflag.org/Sample_conf
But to generate a random map via a script is simple enough to do.
Code: Select all
bzfs -cr -mp 0,10,10,0,0,10

Not sure in windows but there is a nvidia control center for Linux where you can set vsync. I would think there would be on Windows as well.

Ruby Generated map
This is mainly for experiment, but I have written a ruby script to create a CTF with 3 fast shots and superflags. I'm constantly tweaking the script to improve gameplay, it also includes random world weapons. Input would be greatly appreciated.

Cool Map FA. I recommend adding flatshading to all your arcs. I would also recommend adding -set _noClimb 0, just thinking about the mid of the map.

you can also specify a color.
example: diffuse green
all of this info is on the wiki. it just has to be read.

Map Rotation bzbattleground.com
I have set up a rotation server at bzbattleground.com:5154 for some classic maps. Just the memory of these great maps is worthy. It is set on 1 hour rotation, for most maps. Currently the maps hosted include: Overlord by Dutchrai Wild East Wild West by Dutchrai The punisher by Dutchrai Suggestions a...

Re: Server CTL Script
joevano, I misunderstood the wrinkle you spoke of, I was thinking of running multiple processes in the same terminal session. blast, Ctrl+C serves the same purpose as Ctrl+L, without clearing the terminal, so there is a history of what I've done. I'm getting forgetful, it simply helps me to remember...

Re: Server CTL Script
Not to throw a big wrinkle into this.... but how would you run multiple maps? Each requires it's own instance of bzfs, which is unlike apache sites. The same way, just start as many instances of bzfs or any proc, following each command with Ctrl+C. Then use exit to close the terminal. Or write a si...

Re: Server CTL Script
In general any process that runs from the shell directly will terminate if that terminal connection is closed. Running it in screen or putting it to a background process will allow it to continue running without problems. Although screen is your best option for still allowing input through the inte...

Re: No sound Ubuntu11 64-bit bzflag 2.4 install
I would look at replacing 'pulseaudio' with 'alsa'. Due to my sound Card (HDA ATI SB) pulseaudio simply does not work for me with bzflag, and a few other things.
