Indeed, it seems you are, or were, not familiar with frameworks. This whole step is not necessary, and I really do not know why one would want a static version of SDL instead of a dynamic library, as SDL is likely to be used by more than one application. I'm not an expert on this myself, but does s...

This is the first time I have thoroughly read through these instructions, and I have to say, I do not see how these instructions are specific to Intel Macs. What these instructions describe is basically the same for all Macs, except for the steps about SDL, which are not necessary. 4c. Configure SDL...

Re: Plugin Idea: sharpshootingRewards

Camping is annoying. I always thought it would be nice to give people more incentive to take out tanks that have Laser or GM versus going for the little defenseless tank who just spawned. Since 2.1x will allow the server to report individual scores back to clients, I thought a plugin that gives a p...

Enigma While I like your idea, I hope you are aware you can do this same thing with BZW code, except via world weapons (usually SW) - not just killing them. This is done with the trigger oncap option of the weapon object. I had no idea that was possible. Heck I have never even made a map. That is a...

This is a small update. I didn't like the fact that the plugin would re-find the team bases every time a flag was captured. Actually it did that for every player when looping through the players when a flag was captured, and the bases aren't going anywhere. Now it only finds the team bases when the ...

You're in luck! You don't need to know about the main() function to write a plugin.

I've been reading up on how to make a plugin, and it looked simple enough so I might just be able to pull it off... only to figure out that the API just doesn't allow for it.     Ok. This would just have to wait until version 2.2 comes out. Sorry all. :( You can change a p...

Why would I want a flag that gives others points? This is almost equivalent to the Useless flag; it does not do anything to benefit me or the team I am on. I'd rather use a flag that would help me to stay alive longer, such as the Narrow flag, as I play to shoot tanks and have fun, not watch numbers...

Can there be a standard way to deal with flag names? bz_BasePlayerRecord has currentFlag, which is a string that is similar to "Red team flag" or "Low Gravity (+LG)," while bz_getName returns "R*" for the red flag and "LG" for the low gravity flag.

Here are some functions that may be useful. Basically, each function fires a world weapon at a player or an arbitrary position. The parameter variable names should indicate what each one is for, so I will not comment on them. I did not test the functions, but the math should be correct. bool fireWor...
