I want to make a KotH map, and I don't know how to make the hill. How do I do that? Thanks in advance.

Re: BZAnywhere, revisited and different direction

There are many problems with this idea. First, BZFlag would start slower from a live CD. Second, as you said, there are many live CD distros that have BZFlag, so one dedicated to BZFlag would be kinda pointless. Third, your live CD can't possibly have device drivers for all possible sound and video ...

Yes, please get the old theme back as soon as possible. Right now, it looks - shall we say - uncool.

TeleWar - a battle with teleporters by Ratfink

This is my new map. If you like it, please feel free to host it. It is released under the terms of the GNU GPL http://www.gnu.org/copyleft/gpl.html.

Here is a newer version. The only difference is a slight fix in some server messages, thickness added to the boxes to geno, flags other than geno on the way up, and different messages on the death boxes. I hope you like it.

How to get geno

Many of you have been struggleing to get geno, and have not been succeding. Here are some instructions. It is a bit complicated, but here goes... Zoom way in on radar so your tank appears as either a rectangle or a little tank Get onto the box on the bottom Drive until your radar shows the very back...

Of course I have ncurses. Do you think I use windoze like a caveman? :) I figured it out, though. Press space over the selected item, and it will toggle yes/no.

BZAdmin message filter

How do I change the message filter in BZAdmin? I haven't figured it out for several months. Thanks in advance.

Thank you for hosting. However, I see a problem. There is a geno flag on the ground! Please remove that, I only want one geno flag. Thanks.

Here are some screenshots. The raw PNG images were too big, so I had to convert them to JPEG. I apologize for the lossy compression.

Frustration - an annoying map by Ratfink

This is a simple map I made in about an hour (if you put all the tiny 5-minute segments of working together). It is released under the GNU GPL v3. I need hosting for this map. If you do host it, please use the provided configuration file.

Looks like it could be a pretty interesting map. By the way, it will let you upload .tar.gz, but not .tar.bz2 .

I already rated myself once, but I've gotten better now. I think I'm now about a 5 on average, and still a 7 at best.

About 3 months ago, I figured out how to map the mouse so scrolling up is jump, and scrolling down is fire. This is really a great configuration for when I'm talking on the phone!

Flag color in player list

Why is it that some flags in the player list are the color of the tank holding them, and others are white? I've been wondering this for a while.

Laser and theif beams and _shotsKeepVerticalVelocity 1

I have noticed something that greatly detracts from the realisim of BZFlag. When _shotsKeepVerticalVelocity is set to 1 and somebody grabs the Laser flag, that person will have his laser shoot up and down when he jumps. The same thing goes for TH. I think these flags should behave the same when _sho...

A fix for rejoining to reset score

I have an idea to prevent people from rejoining to reset score. Just have the server remember score of players. I know this would eat up a TON of memory if you are running several servers, so the scores could be saved in a text file and server owners would know not to edit this file. Or they could b...
