I was thinking that the thumbnail could be on the ISS (not the space station) and could be made by the map maker, an admin, or the server owner. It would be chosen with -thumbnail <uri of image>.
I think that it would be a cool feature for BZFlag to have a map thumbnail image when you selected a map from the list server. It would work like this: Join Game > Find Server > [select server]. There would then be a small image (200x200 or 300x300) as a preview of the map or whatever the server own...

I think the sounds would be downloaded before gameplay starts on the server, like texture downloading. The image submission system could be modified to be more of a "Data Submission System" and still have the old URL point to the new one for backwards-compatability. Sound cache would go in your .bzf...
Um, so it prevents you from shooting, but it also prevents you from being killed? Sounds like nobody would want that on an FFA, and on a CTF it would be way too powerful. Seems like it would be impossible to kill someone with this flag, which is bad. Also, the no jumping thing just adds complication...

Yes, I agree to remove the version number. After all, some of us use 2.0.12, some use 2.0.10, and I've even seen some that use 2.0.2 (this is no coincidence, that's so they can have fullscreen radar and no HUD)!
The ratio at which a poll is accepted by the server is set in the configuration file. The default setting is .5, but it can be set to more or less by the server owner. It changes for all poll types, not just one. It would require several changes to BZFS to make each poll type have separate lengths.
It stops shots from going through the teleporter, and instead they just ricochet off? Amazing! This can be sorta half-done now with drivethrough and shootthrough boxes in front of the teleporters, though.

I noticed that BZFlag 2.0.12 still has the menu header image that says "2.0.10". I modified it in the gimp to say the correct version number. If you have 2.0.12, please enjoy this more correct image!
It seems to me that 90% of the time someone chats, it is not in complete, well-formed sentences with all words spelled correctly. Of that 90%, 99% is done that way on purpose. There is no reason for spell checking IMO.

I was just playing on Missile War 2.3, and I discovered that flags can be grabbed through thin walls. Some players think it's a cheat, but others don't. Please tell me what you think of this (tactic/cheat).
