well 1.9 will be started when G2 is released ( soon ). I don't know if there is a "plan" I know it will be incompatable with 1.7 will have better collisions, better server side tacking etc... most of the talk goes on in IRC, but basicly it's a "thow your patch against the wall and see what sticks", ...

yes that will happen in 1.9 more then likey, you just have to wait.
G2 is the last of the compatable releases. We just poped this registration thing in as a test, and to get people ready for the real registration that will happen in 1.9.

the current implemenaion goes thru the chat text therefore it can't encrypt. the registration thing is a server only change, so it will work will all 1.7e+ clients. 1.9 will have the registration built in and encrypted. It works a lot like IRC. No it's not totaly secure, but it's better then nothing...

Interesting both of you have ATI cards. I have not been able to get this to dupe with nvidia cards. It may be because ATI's current drivers are built against direct X 9 and require it. Is there anyone elese out there with an ATI card on windows who can help me test this?

we didn't change anything for g1 with this. I need to look into why it happens, it should work the same as G0.

the best way to run in a window is with the "in a window" shortcut, because then you can set the size, and it will allways run in a window.

BZflag on windows uses Direct X to change resolutions of the display and that is what he is having a problem with ( I shoudl know I wrote it ). OpenGL provides no direct access to the display. There is no update to OpenGL ( bz works fine with 1.1 that windows ships with ). it's actualy a pain in the...

dono then, you could try geting DX 9.1 and see if that helps. I do hate ATI due to crapy driver issues like this.

I think I have DX9.1 on the machine that I built on, it shouldn't mater since it's a DX3 call but maybe MS changed something.

sounds like your video driver won't take the res change. what card do you have, and what version of direct X ( it's used for windows res changes ).

I'd use G1, and then use the GUI options menu to set your font sizes and stuff. There is a post to my windows build of G1 in this very forum.

G1 CVS Release build with installer and stuff

I just put together a release build of latest CVS of bzflag for windows. and make an installer, for somone who asked. there is no hard "poly" limit in BZ. maps don't even define triangles or anything like that, everything is parametric. The actual polycounts in any scene can very based on things like dynamic lighing and LOD. you can put any number of objects into a map ( up to at least 32768 iirc), just the more ob...

BZBB was down this morning, sorry bout that, the power went out here, longer then the UPS could hold it for, then the system didn't auto start like it was suposed to :(

it's all back now.

yeah put in a huge number. I don't think the idea of server speed check is a bad idea, just presently the logic is a bit screwwy, so we need this setting.

this didn't change anything other then leting a user set the value at run time. autokick has been in CVS for a while, Xmission has been running for a while as well.
