I have not tested it ever on 98, I would make sure you have the latest windows updates, so that you have the current windows runtime stuff.

BZEdit for windows won't work in liunux, but there is a linux editor out there. ( check the bzedit page )

no software is ever perfect.

BZEdit is rather simple, so there isn't much that it can do that would cause a crash, I'm betting its ether an older version of his MFC runtimes, or some GL issues.

it's like a funky version of 1337 but with less number. Or like some sort of english language compression algorithm. 8)

It's human nature to have the pot call the kettle back :).

sure, it's just taking the bzbot code a bit further, and have it send a login. then have it just ignore positional updates and stuff.

The bot chat was brefly on IRC if I recall correctly.

the origonal robots have been in there since I can remember, pre open source. so probably Chris.

the net and world databases should be riped and made independent modules before a clean bot can be made.

No there is not. to admin you need to login, and presently only bzflag clients log in. In thery somone could make a perl script or something that loged in and sent text commands. but I don't think anyone has.
