it's a known bug. CVS has a fix for it that should take care of it. The server gets stuck in a loop waiting for a non existant close message

linux does it's gamma stuff wierd in X, I have heard of simiar issues. I don't realy know what causes it, but I think there is a conflict between X seting the gama, and BZ seting the gama, and depending onw what WM you run it one wins over the other.

SigPicts

It's come up that some people have questions and problems with sig picts. Hope this can answer some of the questions. 1) if you want a sig pict, please make sure it's not too huge. General rules of thumb, if the sig it's biger then most of your posts, it's may just be too large. Or if it's larger th...

the G0 client sent a lot of extra data. CVS and G2 should lower the number of updates that are sent but still be playable, this should help out the modem users.

it was disucssed as a server option, also we talked about ways to let a player swap teams mid game. unforntonaly the server dosnt' realy know how "GOOD" a player is. but on some servers it may be good to implement. Tho if a player registration server was added, then perhaps that could be used to hel...

There seemes to be some inacuracys in how the client sends it's speed, Chestal has had this happen to him and I think someone is looking at it. I know it was one of the "open" issues discused for a pending G2 release. It may be a good idea to let the server op specify how close to the max speed it s...

yes,you will flood your connection more when more players are on, since more data is sent.

but a hop of 1 sec, that's where the problem is, we expect to send 15-30 updates a sec, it takes 1 full sec to get that one hop in his traceroute. That's a huge problem.

lag is the time it takes for a signal to get from you to the server. if you havea 1000ms ( 1 full second ) hop, that's realy bad. You do not have a good route to the server you are playing on. Realy you can't do anthing about it, since it's all the ISPs that controll the route. Are you on a dialup? ...

when you run bzflag just add -window -geometry 800x600

that will open it in a window 800 x 600 large.

you can make the size anything you want, just change that last paramater

This sounds similar to what I am working on. Each user on a server would have apecific access rights for each admin function. so you could give out "Ban only" access, or what ever you want.

after looking at it again, I see that there is a palce where it may not load up the right base color. Ive made a 1.5.9f10 version that fixes it so it should allways do it right. The link is above.

Let me know how it goes.

I am not seeing that. when you change the color or any item in the UI you need to hit apply. when you say move are you draging the item? or entering in values?
