take a screenshot. i cant take a picture when bzflag is running (my only way of testing it) because it is a fullscreen app. Uh. You can take a screenshot in BZFlag by hitting F5. If you have a "fn" key as well, hold it, then hit F5. The screenshots will be in /Users/<name>/Library/Application Suppo...

Development doesn't always mean working on the main game codebase.

It could be working on the web services, such as the image submitter, the wiki, the main webpage, etc.

It doesn't even have to involve contributing code, it could be contributing new sounds, new textures, etc.

Check the task manager to see if the process is even running.

Ctrl + Alt + Delete -> Processes -> look for "bzflag.exe".

Make sure you've deleted the config file while the game/process isn't running, otherwise the game might just write back the same corrupt settings when it quits.

The speed of your connection has nothing to do with how graphics are rendered. Before giving tech advice, try to figure out what you're talking about.

Re: Screenshots and 2 team missile wars lag.

I also notice at around 9:00pm 3-7 times a week my computer lags so much at missile wars i get kicked Chances are it's because that time is when your ISP is experiencing it's highest load level. There's not much you can do about this. The other possibility is that something on your network may be a...

You need to forward the port(s) to the computer hosting the server(s). http://my.bzflag.org/w/Common_Support_Issues#Router_Setup There are no free hosting options that I know of. Chances of this are very low. Most people either host on their own connection, or they rent out a dedicated servers in a ...

Blast said be more specific. Not restate what you already said.

When does this happen? When you try to run blast's app? When you try to run the .NET framework? When you try to install the .NET framework?

Re: Map?

i was working on adding screens but it keeps saying it's to big of a file.. I was told it's because i have windows. "doesn't make sense o me" Your OS has nothing to do with the size of the file. It's because the image, which is a file, contains too much data (over 1mb). You can open it in an image ...

In the future, please only post your work in progress thread when you have something to show.

The point of a forum is to discuss the map in question, if there is no map or no screenshots we can't comment on anything.

You open the file in a text editor, and paste them in.

A map file is just a text file (.txt) with a different extension (.bzw).

First off, you don't insert them into your config file. You place them in the map file. Please read this, it answers your question(s): http://my.bzflag.org/w/Zone It's important to know the coordinate system if you are making any sort of map. Just think of it as a grid, so your blocks are at "500 fe...

You need to simply turn on fog at the server.

/set _fogMode 1
/set _fogDensity 0.01

You can play with the variables until you get something you like.

Please read our posts. We said that some people block Flash & Javascript from running. This isn't a small amount of visitor, either. Up to 20% of web visitors block javascript, or do not run flash. It is an important component of web development to support most of your visitors. Some people (includi...

A few things I see wrong right away 1) It's called "Untitled Document". Might want to give it a title. 2) The buttons are Flash. Some people (including myself) run Firefox extensions to block javascript (and therefore flash) on all but a few trusted websites, to enhance security. This makes it impos...

The point of creating a thread about a Work in Progress on the forum is for people to discuss it.

If you have no map file, or screenshots, and someone is already hosting it for you, then there is no point in posting it, since we have nothing to discuss.

iBZEdit is not an official editor of the BZFlag project, so you'll have to contact it's creators, who are no longer active.

Without more information, we can't really help you anyways. Try clearing any of iBZEdit's settings/caches and trying again.

Packetloss means your connection to the server is "dropping" occasionally. Think of it as if you were talking to someone, and every 10th word didn't make it to their ears. The best way to fix this is to make sure nothing is hogging your internet connection, such as uploads, or another person on your...
