IMHO, the play is already fast enough and the kills/deaths go around quickly as well.
By including the verticality, the whole gameplay would probably just get more clusterfacked.

I haven't put much thought into the date and time overall, because most of the European students have Fall Holidays this whole week.

As you might have seen, the game is quite less active as it used to be.
Regardless, dedicated players still play, have fun and discuss various things between each other, keeping the spirit up.

Would have to go with Ground Laser Movement (GLM). It's basically as it seems like. You are constantly moving on the ground, looking for someone else to fall down in order to either snipe him/her directly, or with a help of rico.
A notable map for that would be The Two Tanks - Laser Sniping.
