"Oops" in place of apology...

I feel that it is rude to say "oops" or something similiar in place of an apology in response to a teamkill you made. While sometimes it can be deserved by the person you TKed if -they- caused the TK or did something similary stupid, but when you truly caused the teamkill, for example, if you hit th...

Keep it in the game under no further limitations. It is fun when there are multiple jumps and I have it, but not fun when others have it and use it to get an advantage against me, so whenever there is a flag that is only fun to me when I have it, I just forget about it when someone else has it. Deal...

I feel that thieving teammates' flags in a FFA or CTF should be disallowed, but in rabbit chase it should be as I feel that there isn't as strong of a team bond in rabbit chase as in FFA or CTF.

There is a spam control system in BZFS. Tell a server admin or operator to consider enabling it using BZFS options -spamtime and -spamwarn. This will kick spammers that send similar messages too many times in too short of time period and it applies to everyone.

There is no need for libcares.a, the c-ares files with bzflag in the c-ares folder are good enough. Taking out the inclusion of this library file, libcares.a, most likely would eliminate the linking errors as long as the C-ares files included in bzflag are being compiled in with the BZFlag project.

The dev-c++ files are updated as of just a few seconds ago, and I got no errors; a successful build actually, so that is not the problem. UL_Approved: copy and paste the linking line here. To get this, click on the "Compile Log" tab near the bottom when Dev-C++ is done compiling and shows the errors...

Nice! It would be great if hills could be driven on, like actually drive up and down not just jumping and landing like pyramids, but this is impressive nonetheless.

BZFlag is a featured article!...

The Wikipedia entry for BZFlag is now a featured article.

Thanks to everyone who helped make it the way it is, including Tim Riker, brlcad, and many others.

Look at its talk page for its featured article "badge."

Is BZFS in the BZFlag folder? If you are on Windows, BZFS should be called "bzfs.exe" and it should be in the folder that the BZFlag application is in. If not, this is the solution. If it is, I have no idea.

As stated above, the best help is just practice and observing people. Use your tank window as well as the radar for appropriate situations, for example, use your radar to see tanks behind you. It takes practice, but after a while I eventually became a positive-scoring player. BTW, your English is pe...

You forgot the "No, it's fine" choice in your poll :)

I personally feel the game is great the way it is, and making it significantly and distinctively realistic might make it more frustrating than more fun, but I also feel too unrealistic isn't good either. I think it is fine the way it is.

Depends on your operating system. If you have Windows (which I am quite confident you do), the command prompt is the famous CMD.EXE. Click the Start Menu, select "Run" towards the bottom right (or somewhere there), and type in "cmd". A black square window should pop-up (it may take a few seconds to ...

It's quite simple to do in reality, it just is difficult to get a good, customized-to-the-bone server going. You should create a config file (any basic text file) listing BZFS options in it, so you don't have to retype them everytime in the console. Enter: "bzfs -conf CONF_LOCATION" into the command...

Try adding four "-d" options to your config and re-open it. Does it print anything to the screen? Are you sure you are running BZFS correctly, and the config is located correctly? How long from the time you start it till the time you give up? Sometimes, I run BZFS and it is blank for a few seconds b...
