'on flag capture activate world weapon' thoughts...

one of the points in the TODO (the first one here ) is to have a SW go off on the teams base that had their flag captured. This is ok, but what about not showing the flag on base until after a player has appeared? This yould not prevent another team from ambushing the base, but I have never seen thi...

Yah, you are kinda right about that. And that's what I like about BZFlag. Still remember, social engineering is a very strong force. Even before vote-based kicking, cheaters didn't last very long on a single server. [+edit] And on that topic, a single person with 3-6 logins on a single server is ver...

Thats why I think there should be vote-vased killing and silencing as well.

Lets remember that there is such a thing as social engineering.

I've said it: a text to speech engene is pointless. The whole reason there is voice chat is so you don't need to use the keyboard. If anything, commands you say should be converted to text. (which is still a bad idea- there is no free as in freedom speech to text engene that I know of)

A text to speech engene TOTALLY ruins the point of voice chat.

Imagine:secure f, get GF, BRB, [and so on]

It seems that there is some sort of /poll kill in the server. Doing a /poll kill, the server says "you are not allowed to execute /poll kill", whereas "/poll thisdoesnotexist" says "That is not a valid option". Or mabye the server mistakes "/poll kill" for the...

Why not make a seperate program that intergrates into BZFlag?
Teamspeak is nice, but is it GPL?
Do you need to use their servers (it seems like it, but i don't think so)?

(Hnostly, the only major reason is in competition where it would be most useful)

Greate place for hackers to get servers bogged down. And you are right, with this feature, it is a wonderful opertunity for hackers to take hold of servers. You could only let globally/locally registered users talk, than log how much data they send on average. This could be used to identify a spamm...

I can imagine the format of it like this: User presses broadcast key. computer says to server "Add my message to the queue" and starts recording message. Once it is your turn (hopefully the same time you start recording), the server will ask you for what you have (so far, if time-shifted o...

i dont think it would be that much of a problem. You could press diffrent keys to talk to diffrent people, F1 to broadcast to everyone, F2 to broadcast to your team, F3 to select who you want to talk tto and F4 to start talking. Dial-up users can use VoIP (the quality is less than that of a phone, b...

Multi-monitor support

I would love it if there was support for 2 or 3 monitors:

if there was 2, one would show stats, radar, HUD info.
If 3, there would be a wider display

The 2 monitor option would be great for organised / stratagy play.

I installed a 2.0.2 RPM after that.

Mabye a bug report should be filed?

FC3 installed the 'old' bzflag version. So I built from source 2.0.2 (without removing the old RPM. Silly thing to do)
First I built from source. Than I installed a RPM. (Another silly thing to do)

I will try to remove all the biniaries and traces of BZFlag from the system and install from an RPM.

i cant seem to connect to the list server in linux. I can ping the server, and I've read through NoServersFound, but all bzflag says is 'looking up hostname: Host name lookup failure'.

Help me!
