bamf.... breathe in, breathe out. ;) Hehehe. I think that David was simply saying "Spiff, who isn't picky about gameplay tactics, even dislikes it." I don't think he was in any way suggesting that my opinion would affect yours. Especially since you and I don't usually agree. :D It seems to me that n...

I have to agree with David_V on this one. I don't think it's a direct violation of gameplay rules because it is random. However, this can be very unfair. I can't count how many times I've been playing against someone and they used this "suicide" method to their advantage. Sometimes they will even sp...

So I'm nice to newbies...... I don't see anything wrong with that. I'm not saying "let them win"... just be considerate of them. Sometimes people get discouraged when you beat them too much... so let them kill you a few times. Confidence helps to make a better player. If nouthing else... killing you...

Nah, but at the risk of sounding sissified, this may be unfair with some less experienced players. I can imagine that it would be frusterating for some. It really annoys me more than anything.

If you don't come around as much, I'll blow you up extra when you do come around! :P LoL On a serious note (I've been thinking about this for a while), why don't we all just ignore these players? I'm not saying we should be mean to them, but I think that it would convey a strong message if we all ju...

Uneven teams, eh? Well... sadly enough, I rarely see a balanced CTF game. Once in a while things will even up, but even then it doesn't usually last long. You join a CTF server to play CTF. If you have moral reasons for trying to make the teams "fair".. then, by all means, go ahead and do so. I pers...

I voted "it is acceptable albeit without honor." I've seen people kill themselves when they "hide" the flag. But killing yourself repeatedly during a match is sort of rude. It gives you a nervous edge on the other team because they're never sure where you'll turn up.

Sadly, ski, I'm afraid that the people that cause these problems don't realize that BZ is just a game . I can sort of relate to these people because at one time I was the same. I used to take this game too seriously. I'm trying my best not to do this.. but sometimes I get a little too competative. A...

I will readily admit that some of my older maps were very confusing. But sadly.. there is a fine line between "newbie friendly" and "veteran friendly." It's really tough to bridge the gap between the two groups of players. If you make the map too simple the "veteran" players will get bored. If you m...

Spiff maps

Due to the fact that I rarely play FFA anymore, I haven't been creating any maps! *sob* Now that I am developing a new interest in map making... I'm curious if it would make the people in this community happy if I started making maps again.

But... hey.... my thread is getting off topic. Please just give us your "CTF history."

Razz- I love the Clanberries website.... LoL. Very funny.. and definitely a breath of fresh air in a rather "dark" FPS game.

Mega- The intro movie for that team r0x0rz. ;)

Ahhh.... sounds really[/] excellent, DTR! :D That would make it a whole lot more simple for us BZFS GUI users who want to ban all the losers beforehand. Hmm.... Your CTF history

Here's the idea... post the history of what teams you've been on, why you changed teams, etc. in this thread. I'll start it off. :) Well.. let's see. I started on Dervish's Raiders Of The Lost Flag team last year (in September or something). That team was closed, so, in hopes of an FFA League formin...

#3- I have 80-125k up on my cable connection, and it seems to run fine with four players (I've never had more than that on it). I would venture to say that you'll be fine with 125k up (as long as you don't try to support a lot of players). #5- There is a pretty large list of cheaters' IP's. If you w...

Hmm.. not sure, Razz. In all honesty.. I can count the amount of times I've visited a FFA server (in the last month) on one hand. So I guess you could say that I haven't payed a lot of attention. However, I did notice that my spin-jumps weren't flowing like they used to. I just attributed it to the ...

I think that the choice really depends on the team. It's a lot easier for teammates to carry eachother in 3v3. In 2v2.. well, it can often become a game of 1v1 or 1v2 (due to an un-reliable teammate). 3v3 can also be more exciting because it usually keeps the game closer (unless the teams are very u...

Jzaun had a similar thing at one time. I think it was on bzflag.jzaun.com or something... not sure though. You could access his website and it would have a listing that told which map would come up next (on his rotating server). And then.. stats.bzflag.org came around.. and you simply posted your ma...

Yes... that will also work. :) But shots might bounce off of the center of the pyramid at times since it is partially solid.

The huge pyramid roofs on two of the buildings in Canyon 3.0 do that very thing. You can jump around in them, but bullets bounce off in places.

Hmm.. I had this problem in some of my maps as well. It seems in that there is a problem with "floating" pyramid colission in the 1.7 clients. If a pyramid is raised off of the ground and is "X 15, Y 15, Z 15" or so.. it doesn't present a problem. But if the pyramid is say "X 15, Y 15, Z 50" you are...

Uhhhhhhhhh...... wow. LoL. I wouldn't suggest that this map be run with more than three shots.. and no superflags (or at least only the weak superflags). I'd hate to think what L or SW would do in this map. ;)

Otherwise... I like it. :D
