BZFlag has two options - with and without lighting. Without lighting, the colors are pre-computed to look like there's lighting. Yes, this hardcoded. With lighting, the lighting is calculated dynamically based on the position of the sun. If you can work out a way to use arbitrary models in BZFlag, t...

system #2 runs ok, but textures are a bear....and the overall feel is much like a tank running through mud....sluggish.....system That's strange - 2.3 GHz with a GeForce - should run fine unlesss you're using a modem or BZFlag is, for some odd reason, not giving you hardware acceleration. I'm only ...

Although 1.7g2 will be the last compatible version, I doubt that all of the changes we want to do will be implemented right away. Adding all of the changes, patches, etc in a single release proved to be sort of a disaster when we tried to do 1.8.

This is due to the fact that BZFlag wasn't originally designed to have objects above ground - hence it doesn't even consider bullets hitting objects from the bottom. I guess we should add that to our bug list, if it isn't already there.

At SF we can do stuff like assign priorities (as if we payed attention to priorities ;)), attach files (demonstrations, patches), put them in categories, set status and resolution, etc. Developers can also join a mailing list so we get E-mail whenever something is changed, added, deleted, etc. It's ...

If the developers are so gung-ho on this International kick, then how about the following languages... Official StarTrek speak (Klingon, Vulcan, Romulan, etc...) Klingon! They've actually made an entire language (there's dictionaries and everything!) out of it! http://www.kli.org/ http://www.jumpst...

not sure what the upper end is.
Last I played, I don't think BZFlag had a limit - I've played with quite a few!

There's only one type of bot right now, and it won't jump (and it's fairly stupid).

If you want something better, you'll have to code it yourself.

One of the reasons why M$ is the preferred BZFlag development platform, is that stl works flawlessly.
I don't remember that . . .

I do remember having major troubles with strings, though :x

I certainly hope so. I'd also like to see the bug I reported get fixed. I can't fix it myself, as I don't have VC++ anymore.

600 MHz Celron with built-in acceleration. Some sort of Intel chipset that was a pain to get working in Linux.

Dual-booting Windows & Linux.
