Re: BZAdmin (Mac users only)

One trick I use is taking advantage of a file called .profile in your home directory. Open up the file .profile in your home directory in a text editor. You can easily make aliases by adding the following code alias s = 'ssh tony@bzextreme.com' So to make a bzadmin alias you could do something like ...

Re: Game mode suggestion: Humans vs Zombies

Hopefully I'll get around to finishing up the scoring and bug fixing sometime this week. More like a month or two ;) Finally got around to finishing this. Right now, we're sitting at version b0.6 -- skipped b0.5 release because it was way to buggy and just didn't work. One of the improvements in b0...

Re: Material not loading

One note that might be of use: Theres a map property (texsize) that isn't documented very well. It basically allows you to scale textures to the sides of an object. Here is how it's used: material name wall texture wall end box position 0 0 0 size 10 10 10 matref wall texsize 1 1 end texsize scales ...

Re: Material not loading

Make sure you are doing "matref Eyes" and not "matref eyes". Capitalization matters.

Also, those look like solid colors. Why not just use the diffuse property?

Re: 2010 Collaborator Submissions

Scythio: I changed position to shift and reordered scale/shift properties on your group "tower". The shift has been set to 50 -250 0. Also took out the world and options blocks at the top. I see you also removed the flag zones... are we allowed to have those? From what I can tell others h...

Re: Long shots on radar

Your conf still says "set linedradarshots 2" ;) Here is the order you should edit your conf in: Close BZFlag. Open the conf. Edit the conf. Save the conf. Open BZFlag. You can not edit the conf while bzflag is open because it just overwrites it when it quits. Changes take effect on restart...

Re: Random Terrain for "Hide and Seek Hills" maps.

The only downside I might see is the map file would eventually get so large it would take forever to download.

Also only some clients could handle a map of that size and detail ;)

Looks cool though :D

Re: 2010 Collaborator Submissions

Thanks Optic.

One note, I'm not including your section yet because it messes up the cache file (way faster to download for now) but when its all said and done, I'll not use a cache file.

Re: 2010 Collaborator Submissions

I currently have a submission for G5 but it is not added to the map because it screws up the cache file. Eventually it will be added in and people will just have to download the entire world. (Drawinfo doesn't cache) Spazzy: the position of your glass tower has been changed to 650 50 0. Updated the ...

Unfortunatley Foooey did not respond in time.

Spazzy made an extra square and took Foooey's spot.

Right now we are only waiting on Scythio! Yay!

Re: 2010 Collaborator Submissions

Sorry if I extremley changed anyone's section incorrectly (oops!). I thought just scaling it would do the trick, guess not in some cases. Once the final map is done and decided on, it will probably be a good idea for everyone to "test" out their sections and make sure everything is correct...

Re: 2010 Collaborator Submissions

I scaled it by .9 .9 .9 because it was edging onto the other sections and was impossible to pass between them. One thing that probably should have been mentioned before (I saw Constitution did this by himself) everyone's sections should be a few units inside the absolute borders. This way it is easy...

As the mapmakers, we will eventually have to agree on some settings. I think _noClimb 0 would be acceptable. MDSKPR: your submission has been added to the test server. Map updated: (EDIT: http://s.bzextreme.com/98306792) Sigonasr2: I slightly modified your section in different parts to work better w...

only accuse those who use them! Like me1 said, you are falsely accusing many players. This is not acceptable. As to who can "censure" servers: the admins and the owners of every individual server can. Blast owns BZExcess, he can do whatever he wants there. It's good practice to only ban t...

Yes. Adding MORE spots is probably not going to happen at this point.

Like I was saying, if we don't hear back from Fooey soon we might have one 100x100 spot open for the taking.

Re: Shots not reloading

It generally happens when people set the _reloadTime high, change the _shotSpeed / _shotRange in game.

Overall, it is a bad idea to set variables in game. They should be set in your map / conf file on server start.
