Win Xp No, it was not modded. Run bzflag in -view three mode, and you'll notice four little corners in your screen. Now, what I did was added another monitor to the mix. I plugged a 2nd monitor into my graphics card, and then had the graphics driver tell Windows that my screen resolution was a 2560...

Permission given to resource all code under GPL.

But still, if you have a header at the beginning of each file (like many SF projects do), could you mention my website, www.garrettsites.net ? plzkthx.

Nice guys! I also thought of an idea that I had a few months before when I was coding the Mapatorium. There would be a server that would host the Map of the Day each day. If you look at the code, the "Map of the Day" choice is weighted so that more highly-rated maps have more chances of be...

I'm glad to see the idea of the Mapatorium surviving, even if the code totally sucked (don't you agree?)

Here it is. The BZflag Mapatorium: Releaased. (although, if you cashed in on one of the many security holes, you would have already been able to see the source code ;)) Basically, this is what I would describe as a piece of software I have written such as phpSiteManager: http://automotospk.iglu.cz/l...

BZFlag Mapatorium

Whenever I need to tell somebody learning PHP how NOT to code, I'll show him the Mapatorium. Let's face it, it's the worst collection of code I ever wrote. It may look good and pretty on the outside, but on the inside it is so screwed up and challenged that you'd be lucky to get anything done in it ...

Well, if your router isn't resolving hostnames (which could also be a DNS problem btw) then it's got to be your router! I'd try everything from using a different router to connecting your computer straight to the internet. I don't think this is a problem that can be fixed by patching BZFS.

There's always a way, you could hack the cilent or something, have it report invalid ID's....

But why all the work for such a little effect?

??? If you got on with your terminal IP, then your server's running. It is up. Logically you cannot connect to a server that's not there.

And... those two pictures are just of maps, I wish looking at a map could help solve a BZFS startup problem, but that can't happen yet!

You can't chat as the (UNKNOWN) guy, instead it is an error displayed when a corresponding player can't be found for the ID specified. Packets are lost, sometimes some data doesn't get through to the server, and you end up getting a message from (UNKNOWN).

Some servers dissalow autopilot, because they want to keep slots open for people that actually want to play. It all depends on which server you're on, usually the more popular ones will disallow autopilot.

The protocol right now would not allow for the friendly addition of a "timing message". Syncability would also be an issue. As for the PNG texture being transparent/shootthrough, if trepan was not already working on it, i'd say it was a foolish idea, because you can just use shootrhough or...

What version of BZFS and what version client are you using? What OS? Does the original ShockwaveDeath plugin cause it to crash, or is it your modified one that is making it crash? Before you try anything though, the most common source of plugin crashes is caused by not checking for NULL player recor...

Windows = workstation
Linux = server

Yeah, I'd go with linux for serving. Plus you can do other fun things with linux like SSH and nmap attacks ;)

There may be a flags bug in Windows, but that's not what's keeping your players from connecting. There is a connection limit set in WIndows that only allowed a certain number of people to be connected to your computer at one time. There are ways to edit this, and I have tried some, but none of them ...
