Making the iLeague site is a lot harder than I expected. I figured I could have it done in a month or two. The more I worked on it, the more I realized what a task this was. A site this big is just going to take a while to create, test, and debug.

You would need shell access to the server. A web server can't run a bzflag server.

Lag is the delay between your computer and the server. You typically can't fix this, unless you are running software in the background. Software that would affect this would be spyware/adware/malware, P2P apps, download managers, etc. Also, try playing on servers that are closer to you.

It was always a pleasure playing on your servers. Lately, I haven't been playing BZFlag as much either. Too busy with work, life, and the iLeague website. I'm sure there will be many people that will miss your servers, as the higher speed and jumps on the Cracked server were fun. Also, I'm glad you ...

Actually, the external camera modes have been removed in my client for quite a while. Some people considered it cheating cuz they could see ST on top of short buildings or ST sneaking up behind them. It also had some bugs with it, that made the PZ and OO visual effects not work with your own tank. T...

Can you ping the hosts you are tying to connect to? If so, what is the average ping time?

I think my all time highest score was about 450 points. That was way back in 1.7, and when the old stats site was up. /me wonders if he took a screenshot

Does it work if you try to connect again? I've been having a problem similar to this on my linux box, where it can't find the host the first time, but it does the second time.

That was most likely a modify server setting. 1.10 allows changes like that.

You might be able to get free hosting at www.snake-inc.com which is the host I use. You have to register on their forum, then read the FAQ in the free hosting signup forum carefully. They can give 100MB of space, 2GB of bandwidth, PHP, and FTP. Their big thing they want is content.

Depth Buffer is good to have on, unless it causes problems. It typically increases your FPS.

I have an nVidia GeForce FX 5200, the PCI version, and it works just fine for BZFlag. I typically never drop below 50FPS, and usually hold at my V-Sync (85FPS). I run at 1024x768 full quality, except no lighting or shadows. My processor is only an 800MHz PIII, so a faster CPU would yield faster FPS ...

First, did you kill the bzflag.exe process and try to run it again? second of all, have you installed any software/drivers that might conflict with bzflag? Possibly running software that uses your 3D accelerator could cause problems. Third, you might want to run adware/spyware checks and see if some...

I use Slackware's ZipSlack. It's a stripped down version of Slackware, but it runs a bzflag server just great. I have mine installed in c:\linux\ (Windows 95 machine) and I just boot up in MS-DOS and run it. It's only a 50MB download, and it can fit on and boot off a ZIP disk if you so choose. ZipSl...
