Re: Surftank
Well ... there was a long discussion about Surftank's alleged death. Since I can neither verify its truth nor untruth ... I'll go the easiest way and don't touch this 1vs1 account. In case Surftank's BZBB account will be removed or locked (one day), an automated status update run will set the corres...

Re: Surftank
In difference to the other states, "inactive" is more a virtual status. It's almost like "active" but indicates a player didn't play any match since 31 days. So "inactive" will change to "active" a soon as Surftank is playing a match.

Re: Activity
1vs1 League admins didn't expect BZFlag's 2.0.x successor before 2012. As a result there it wasn't planned to spend any development time in 2011. Unfortunately, the players changed to 2.4.x and forgot about 2.0.x...very untypical for BZFlag-conditions... :) Seriously, the plug-in (and lack of time) ...

Unreported official 1vs1 match results
Please use this place to report official matches you are missing. Usually all matches are reported immediately by the 1vs1 plug-in which is installed on all official match servers. Report are send to the 1vs1 web server then. In case of a temporary downtime of the 1vs1 web server there's a fallback ...

Re: Joining a League
Well, what makes GU League so different compared to other team-based Capture-The-Flag leagues are the community itself and the match modalities: - two teams per match, - jumping, [EDIT]I forgot that jumping is essential, thx for pointing out that "no jumping" is wrong, Bullet Catcher.[/EDI...

Re: bzflag man page not loading
I'm not sure, but because of the message above I think the script behind is trying to load the man pages from CVS instead of SVN. (Since a while the project is available as SVN repository only - as far as I know.)Display BZFlag man pages from CVS.

Re: BZFlag 1.x servers
And for 1.7, I'm not even sure if that list server is running anymore. (which means even if someone was running a 1.7 server, you wouldn't be able to tell since the server list wouldn't work) blast is right - 1.7 is a dead version. The 1.7 list server went offline quite a few years ago and the last...

Re: Website for commands
@mrapple Well, thank you for the notice but the flags and their descriptions were/are captured by regular trunk checks. So it's possible some flags are not any longer or not yet in the code of official releases. And as you can read: Cloaked Shot (CS) - Shots are invisible out-the-window. Still visib...

Re: Website for commands
Many more commands here: http://bzstats.strayer.de/bzinfo/commands/ Some of those commands are for 2.99.x/3.0.0 servers, such as the lua / commands. Bambino is right - not all of the additional commands are for the 2.0.x servers/clients. At least one command (/selflock) is not even available in a s...

Re: GU site (UN)attracting players.
In my eyes, the the site isn't more difficult to handle than the old one. Beside the fact of being able to choose one of five different themes (and because nobody mentioned what makes the current themes so unattractive) you also have the option to create your own (which can be similar to the old one...

Re: Old servers
2.0.x servers are currently the oldest BZFlag servers on the public list, as you can see. There might be older servers around, but at least not listed (http://db.bzflag.org/db).
(Btw, the official list for 1.7 servers is down since months or even years.)

Re: bzleague.com down
Well done!
1) Does this mean http://www.guleague.org/ represents the new official GU League website? (Just want to know - having team/player export for my BZstats site in mind.)
2) What happens when using the the BZBB weblogin page - automatic league registration?

Re: bzleague.com down
Oopsa! In case that it could have been a hack, the other leagues using the web-league should run a data dump. Furthermore, they should check whether their web-league database users have only the permissions which are necessary for the tables. Usually, there's no need for TRUNCATE, DELETE and sometim...

Re: Private network BZFlag stats server
Yes. If your BZFlag server has a connection to the internet make sure not to set the parameters "-public" and "-publicaddr". Otherwise your server would be listed on the public server list. For statistics you have the choice - using the server logs you can parse, a stats plug-in,...

Re: Python script
Well, beside the certainty of having a design-independent content structure, a RSS feed (usually) allows to transfer the same data like an HTML page with less traffic and less server resources (for creation). In this special case it seems that at least the amount of transferred bytes is higher when ...

Re: Python script
omg... Please check http://stats.bzflag.org/rssgenerator.php and consider using the RSS feed instead of parsing the HTML code. Even when the stats site isn't known for changing its HTML code that often, the advantage of using the RSS feed is the reliable tag structure. (Furthermore, there already ex...
