Thanks for the information. I might try the router townstairs to see if I can get a difference in lag.

If it does it might be worth considering. It might also allow me to get a faster connection that is paid for but won't work on the router.

I have 1.1 DSL. I think I get lag anyway to start of because I am near the 1.5 mile connection limit for the DSL exchange and the phone line has been extended. I do seem to still get some problems based on the time of day :( I usually get a fast download and ping speed (usually max out my connection...

I did try that earlier. It seemed to help but the lag still increased.

It was getting so bad that it was impossible to shoot anyone because they had moved by the time my shot had got there

I have started experiencing some serious lag (2400ms+). My PC is relatively fast (AMD Athlon XP 4400+). My PC is connected to the internet through a router. Usually it has been fine with a few lag warnings and occasional kicks. Today the lag wasn't above most of the server limits but it was constant...

It would be quite nice for it to be enabled by default unless it is manually turned off otherwise server admins won't check for new config options

I think the build is definetly faster. I am getting a higher framerate.

Phantom zone shots should be identified differentily on the radar.

People jump only to find out the shots where PZ and wouldnt of effected them anyway

I thought it was a bzflag hardware issue as I could listen to other sounds.

It turns out it is a weird windows sound bug that im now fixing

I dont know if this is a hardware problem or a beta bug. I am getting no sounds on bzflag. In the audio settings it says Sound Volume: Unavalible

RPG are you running 32bit or 64bit windows?

I am no good at compiling so I couldnt do it myself.

Has anyone considered either an offical / unoffical 64bit port of bzflag?

I have never had this problem with viper but I often get it with secret place.

I think something like this should be added to the offical build. I am always getting shot by tanks with Wings because I didnt realise that they had it.
