I can see it now... Someone opening up Finale (Music program) and entering boop...bop...boop..bop... Since you're quoting my message, I'll reply that nowhere in my post did I mention MIDI music. It wouldn't have to be. Just like you seem to like rendering artwork on the computer, I imagine that som...

Sure, why not? So long as I can turn it off when I want to! Regarding the copyright question, I imagine that me have a few musicians amongst us, and somebody could come up with some music and be willing to contribute it to the game. Battle for Wesnoth certainly has decent music - heck, it's freaking...

that's what we've all been saying... What have we all been saying? Some of us seem to be saying that the BZFlag MySpace page should look better than it does, and others are saying that MySpace people are Munchkins and that they don't want BZFlag advertised on MySpace at all, since they'll all flood...

One of my favorite uses is to hunt the 3 or 4 players who have noticeably higher lag. That way, I can easily remember to compensate for it when I come across them.

Regarding the MySpace page itself, it isn't all that bad as it is right now. The screenshots weren't showing up. Instead, there's a yellow bar extending down several taps of the pgDn key. Not sure what that's all about. You aren't leeching, are you? Bad things can happen when you leech photos.

I've never had this trouble or heard of this trouble at all, and I'm on Hepcat pillbox quite a bit.

For what it's worth, my client is compiled from CVS on a Gentoo 64bit Linux box.

Built my own computer which runs Gentoo Linux. For editing photographs and playing the heavier games.

My wife and I each have an older laptop both of which came with Windows XP. We both have Xubuntu installed and use that primarily with the rare boot into Windows.

Connection 3 meg down, 768k up.

Just out of curiosity, do you have a second computer in the house that you can test bzflag on? Preferabl...

Have you tried playing? The worst that could happen is that your computer crashes. A few things to try if the graphics are horrible: Try playing with the options -> display menu settings. especially quality and video format. Sometimes if you select a lower resolution like 800x600 the game will run s...

Personally, I'm all for using the fair-ctf plug-in. It's in use on borrego, and it makes the life of a cop/admin much easier. It frees you up from getting into a million little arguments with the cantankerous poor sportsman du jour. They simply can't pick up the flag, so there's nothing to argue abo...

Hehe, anyone ever play HTF? You get something like 150+

Outside of HTF, I did the usual shoot yourself/teammate with genocide. Did it once on a busy day at Silvercat's Overlord server. Didn't get banned, but felt like an idiot.

One of the counter-arguments to having server-side checking for cheaters is that a greater amount of network bandwidth and CPU cycles would be consumed. At the very least, having the ability to check on a suspected cheater one at a time would help mitigate this problem. Due to a lack of knowledge ab...

./configure --enable-shared

How about a hack to bzbb that would automatically add people to a beginners group when they first register their callsign on bzbb and keep them there for 30 days. Then server owners could use -advertise to decide whether or not the members of the beginners group would see their servers. I know that ...

Right then.

First, no caps.

Second, it always helps if you tell us what Operating System, video card, bzflag version, etc...

I'm going to take a wild guess that you need to install the accelerated drivers from the company who made your video card.

The following page is a good place to start out. One piece of advice: if you have never made a server before on any OS, don't try to get everything working at once. If you do, you end up with layered problems.

Should we renew the htfleague domain?

pyr0 asked me this evening if he should renew the htfleague.com domain.

The league has been defunct lately due to varying reasons. Is there interest in getting it going again, or is it enough to simply play the occasional HTF match for fun?

Ok, the server has been updated to wow2345.servegame.net, but I still see it in the server list as 192.168.16.101. AH! there's your problem. 192.168.16.101 is an address that is reserved for Local Area Networks. (can't believe I didn't notice it before...) Either you need to put your external addre...
