My experience is that it fails to produce a desired result probably 60-75% of the time. Granted, I haven't used it as much as [dmp] has :) , but I quit using it in matches because it failed far more often than not, and by failing can leave you in an even *worse* position than you could have gotten y...

dmp - yes, I will borrow some names from your silencelist :) I only have a couple piggynames on mine... CapN makes a good point that I forgot. If teams are uneven, then just take the flag to the middle of the field and drop it. That way there is a goal to the game besides just shooting other tanks, ...

Can we add a 4th way to vote? "It's a possible tactic, but a risky one" :) I don't think it's "without honor" or "cheating", because anyone can do it (ie: it's not like making your tank skinny or using speed cheats - that's dishonor), but, having tried it, I don't think...

CTF Peeves

Posting this in Leagues since this is primarily a CTF-related post. Pat or fiber - move it if you need to, no probs... ski's post on arguing made me think of this, because the arguing is one way that can ruin an otherwise good game. There are other things that make the game a whole lot less fun, we ...

ski - I get there too, lots more recently it seems. Sometimes bzgirl is there to "talk me down" :) , but sometimes I just say "goodbye" and leave, then come back later when folks like yourself are around and the quibbly kids are off playing, whining, and arguing on another server...

You missed one! (regarding CTF)

13. BZFlag is a game where the main, the *ONLY*, point is to get the other teams flag to your base, while keeping your flag from theirs. In this game, individual kills do not count, teamwork does, and the only important thing is - where are the flags at! (At least, that's how it is for me, thus my g...

Official Matches and lag (gag :) )

Interested in opinions and input on this topic: What is the generally accepted protocol for cancelling an Official Match in-progress when an active player has excessive lag? Is there one? Should there be some maximum number assigned to Official Match lagstats? Is this solely the call of the ref? If ...

SGI - Your idea to switch to Avengers and be a spy for USD is a good one. I think that if you "accidentally" kill your teammates at crucial moments in a match against us they may figure you out, so be careful when doing that to make it look like an "accident". Yes, sure, once you...

Chris actually tried to make it realistic on the first attempt, but apparently 10 km arenas and mach 1 bullets didn't work so well, so he scrapped realism for playability ;). I'm with ski and [dmp] : Body-english gets used a lot, even though it doesn't seem to help. :) In FFA sometimes I'll jump when a nasty surprise happens. Used to be my ritual was to cuss long, loud, and vociferously. A couple months of dying and that little habit has died away - I still have not-so-g...

Are you using the default BZ client that comes with Libra 2.0? It's e4, and there are newer clients that run better and look better. Even e6. I have Libra2.0 (dist-upgraded) on one partition, haven't gone all the way with "unstable" yet to put g0 on. Installed RedHat9 on another partition ...

Chik u should try to find a local ISP and set up an account with them. You will probably pay less monthly, and your lag might improve as well. Just a thought -
