Re: suggestive map theme
This certainly could be a fun idea, but the real funness (or lack of) would come out of how well you make the specifics.

Re: a fun flag idea by me that is not a supposed "cheat flag"
As Positive Gravity said, this has been suggested a lot before. Its a good idea to look at the suggested flag list on the wiki so you can get a better idea of what has been suggested, and what the admins like in a suggestion (and get some good laughs out of the ridiculous ones ).

Re: flags and tactical capabilities
Bad flags are supposed to be a pain, that's why they're there. They're there to provide an obstacle. We don't say to take out death physics because they're annoying, same with bad flags. However, I do think it would be interesting to add more flags that affect an entire team in some way, like genoci...

I'm sure that most maps made with this game mode in mind will be designed so they they don't have any easy camping spots.

I also like the first two, especially the second one. The antimatter shot thing seems overly complicated and probably impossible to implement though.

Re: Is BZFlag a especial game?
I love bzflag because, yes, it is a great strategy and skill game ( join the GU league!), but mostly because of its great community (again GU league!). You will see some online games like, *cough* runescape that have millions of players and there are just small groups of players who know each other....

Re: Un f5-able wall?
I seem to recall a map by ahs3 that had a wall where if you f5ed, you would immediately be killed by a death physics on the other side. Would this work in your situation?

Well... I might be able to help you with some things but you could be more specific. What don't you know how to do?

Re: Idea: Hunt the General
This looks like a really good idea, and I'm actually kinda excited about seeing this implemented, which I'm guessing shouldn't be too hard with a plugin. It seems that a lot of interesting new map ideas could be designed around this concept too.

I am no expert on plugins, but this sounds like it could be possible with one. Definitely an interesting concept.

Re: Configurable Console Messages
I would REALLY like a console size that can be different than the radar size, as that would be very useful during league matches. Turning certain messages on and off could be useful, but I don't really have a problem with those.

Re: Tracking
this is not exactly what the topic is about, but reading this gave me the idea: what if tanks had rotating turrets and the gunner saw everything in tracking mode, while the driver had same HUD as there is now... This would require 2 ppl per tank (and would be a config option). Also it may be set up...

Re: Fullscreen on mac... how do you get out?
On some newer mac keyboards (like mine), the f1 key is used for some other function by the computer and won't toggle fullscreen (this same reason applies to the f-keys that change who you are observing). If this is the case you have to change it to a different key (to change the observer keys you ha...

Re: Beginner questions-shooting etc.
i suggest a steady line of bullets where he is going to land. and if you have a limited shot flag. dont hold back, take the risk and usually you will hit them. This is a good idea at first, but try to be able to time and hit the person coming down with just one shot. It is a pretty necessary skill ...

I've always pronounced it the latter way in my head, but now that I think about it, I'm not sure it would be the short "a" sound...dexter wrote:How do you pronounce "ducati"? Do you say 'doo-caaaaaaty' or 'doo-cawwwwtii'

Re: Language Spoiling The Experience
I can't think of many other servers right now, but I know the bzbattleground servers are well-admined and do not tolerate language. The leagues generally don't have much bad language, but sometimes things get out of hand. Also, if you're worried about your daughter but don't want to watch her all th...

Re: How do you pronounce callsigns?
A gnu is a type of wildebeest, and also the operating system, whose logo is a gnu (awkward sentence, I know). It is pronounced like "new" I believe. I don't know where exactly his name came from, but I don't think it's an acronym.

Re: Beginner questions-shooting etc.
To answer your first post: Yes, sometimes it is lag, but often experienced players can dodge a bullet just barely, and it might look very close but you really didn't hit him. As you play more this will become more clear, and you'll be able to do it too. Third post: This is a bug, and not the admin's...

Why do we need some company to organize matches for us when we already have leagues that work fine? I don't really see the point.

Haha don't listen to Winny... Game > life. Bzflag really isn't declining though. Yes, people are taking breaks for the holidays and yes, fluctuations sometimes happen. That doesn't mean a big ctf will fix anything though. If you like organized matches and/or a pretty stable community, join a league ...
