Spawn Zones

So... i'm trying to make a map where you don't spawn at your base. However, when I join, I always spawn on the base. I'm using:

Code: Select all

zone Purple_Spawn_Area
 pos 159 159 22
 size 90 45 1
 team 4
 rot 135
end
for the spawn area.
Any ideas anyone?

Could someone post the registration/map/time details in this thread? and delete the other two spam threads?

Re: Sealed, again.

hrm... running into bricks: same here. (mac OSX 10.6.3)
it happens when you lag slightly into the block... you have to run forward (idk?) to back out slowly... but you are highly vulnerable. Telports idk... hasn't ahppened. I can recreate this on local servers if I do something (f5) to induce lag.

Re: Tank Size

slower.... that's kinda bad. that makes them hard to maneuver. However, taller, wider, longer would definitely help some people... kinda like an inverse handicap. Or, more accurately, actually like a handicap which is something which inconveniences you, instead of helping you.

Re: zoned materials

e.g. teleports with a wall behind them.
or teleports inside a building... they act like a fly trap. Believe me... i've tried. (As anyone who played on the older version of Zoned can contest.)

Re: Stealing team flag from teammate.

Just clarifying: So, if say I'm on the red team, and my partner had the R* whilst I have TH. There is no sound as my partner picks up the R*. However, when I steal it, the game reacts as if a member OF THE OTHER TEAM had grabbed the flag, and uses the *Flag Alert* sound. Then, the message *Flag Aler...

Re: Stealing team flag from teammate.

Yes, since there it is considered to be another person grabbing the flag. You will get a *ping* sound and there will be a "Team Grab!" text alert.

1-20 means 1 kill, 20 deaths.
NOT 1 to 20 points.

Re: New player shooting

And, as has been stated, you will either:
Be ignored, and any kill you make will be attributed to luck
Be watched, and constantly murdered for points.

Unfortunately, this is rather what happens anyways, since new players are easy to identify.

Re: Earthbound - a 4-team CTF

Oh and Number c:
Make a large shockwave cover the entire quadrant, to prevent spawnkilling from that aspect too.
Maybe chuck the 2 flags (v 2.0) and put in 1 jumping, and say 1 geno in the middle? idk.
It just seems too wide and empty for my tastes.

Re: Midpoint Operations - a Red versus Green CTF

Actually-- its Fast, not Fast Sorted
Fast (not Enhanced) is the best radar style... it shows the most layers and it color-codes them based on relative height to you.

And, given standard Gravity/JumpVelocity, anything Green can be jumped up to, whereas anything blue can't.

Re: Midpoint Operations - a Red versus Green CTF

the center... is impossible. Kinda. I did it twice, but i got it about 15% of the time.
either:
Shrink the upper platform,
Only make the bottom kill you, or
Make none of it kill you, and merely cause you to bounce to a corner.

just trying to clarify, just saying:
When you are tired of the 3D, start bzflag with bzflag -view normal to turn it off.
might not help some people.
