Try to imagine how boring the game would be if all you cauld see was the radar... Just 2D dots with squares around them telling you how high the dots are from the ground... Would be all that exciting, would it? You've got it all wrong... Try to imagine the explosive potential of every player, if th...

Actually i agree a little both ways...more toward Davy Jones i love useing the first person window...it is what makes bzlflag, BZFLAG i use both about equally...the radar and window... if we didn't have the 3d part of it this game would have never become this popular or exciting ...bzflag would fla...

I have the same problem, I'm running an onboard i810 Sometimes boxes have the outerwall texture as well, not to mention in certain texturing modes it seems like the blending is whacked out... Gamma is messed up as well... TRB, you have a link to what Trepan said? Binaryspike: I have the same graphi...

although i admit to watching the radar most of the time, i disagree that radar should be changed, the radar is what makes it fun. also, as many have said. re-bounding shots of pryramids is simply impossible without a 3D view! if you mean ricocheting off a pyramid, to hit a wing dude, or some one in...

The radar is actually part of the HUD, along with any other onscreen text and visual. HUD stands for Heads Up Display. The 3D view is not the HUD. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Heads-up_display Anyway, Jeff has called the game 2.5D because of the high reliance on a 2D representation of the world. So...

I'm pretty sure most of us are going to disagree with you But it is what makes bzflag good. Most of us can't use radar to rico off pyramids, as †hey show up as boxes in the current mode There are many other factors against and for your argument. But i think most of us like the radar how it is two v...

sn0w_m0nkey Heya monkey, Yes, We are getting another US server up, its going to be on the east coast, so hopefully we'll get a good median lag for the euro players also. Mofo does offer low lag for americans, but we also want relatively low lag for european players also. Saturos quoting 264ms on CB...

CBG - No offense taken - you know I don't mind being disagreed with. have I played for a period of 6 months on keyboard? no. And hate to tote this - but I can somewhat seamlessly adjust and play decently, because I understand the mechanics of the game. Now, I do not have facts, graphs, tables, numbe...

my mousewheel controls my radar. not shooting. It groups the shots way to closely. And, No moving of my wrist at all. Just the thumb. I use the mouse button for shooting, along with qwe. (BTW - some consider this info i'm giving confidential) ;) Yes, I drive the tank with the trackball. Again, I don...

Re: you too?

interesting, baron.. now i'm really curious how many folks actually use that key. I'm a faithful keyboarder and would never use slow mode to get better aim. it'd.. take too long. then again, my aim isn't too horrible either.. (nor is yours, which futher confuses me that you'd use the key) It takes ...

I don't know what all this is about lack of precision with a keyboard. For example, I can jump at full angVel, half angVel (either by using the Half-Speed key, or just by timing my jump and turn key presses correctly) and quarter angVel (by using both the half-speed key and good timing ). If you ne...

I was going to point that out, but you beat me to it, the enemy. I do use keyboard on some maps, mostly skill maps where you can't jump and pillbox (where you can jump in FFA*i think*) It helps because you can poparound a corner shoot and go back in an instant, bu the mouse takes longer, There is a...

Well, It looks nice but I guess it sucks not being able to turn at full speed or to move forward/backward whilst turning at max angVel. If they have just changed the geometry of the box, I don't think the handling is effected. Logistically, think of your old square mousebox, fitting around the new ...
