Re: player ID in score question
You can also leave Jump While Typing turned on and use F2 as the completion key. Where is the F2 setting for that? All I see in Options -> Input -> Change Key Mapping for F keys is/are: #1 Shift+F1 Main Message Tab #2 Shift+F2 Chat Message Tab #3 Shift+F3 Server Message Tab #4 Shift+F4 Misc Message...

Re: player ID in score question
As to whether or not to remove this feature, I don't see the harm in keeping it around. It can be useful to refer to really long callsigns for admins who don't have tab-complete enabled in their clients. #1 That is the short tem goal. #2 Please tell me more about this tab-complete feature. Is it bu...

You asked for it you got with different wording so you understand.
It should be used only internaly by bzflag (ex for telling who shot who). If you disagree with that, please explain why.

Re: player ID in score question
It isn't secret information as all clients receive this information, and they use it to tell the server who they got shot by, determine who a shot belongs to, etc. So no, it isn't a plugin. It's just part of the stock client . Would you agree that it should be used only for that for now on and not ...

Re: player ID in score question
I tested on a truelly private server (not forwarding ports behind NAT router and bzfflag does not do IPv6 yet), can confirm: built in and admins see it. But not sure what specific permission. Since it's usage should be omitted whenever possible (because it cause trouble with kicking/banning), why do...

Or, on the server list, press the 5 key. This will load a filter that defaults to finding ducati-style servers. Specifically, it filters for no jumping, with ricochet, CTF, 2 shots, and 2 teams. Press the 0 key to reset the filter to show all servers. Nods head in agreement and adds an important po...

Re: BZFlag for an experiment
Because something not being designed for a purpose does not mean that it later strictly cannot fill that purpose. Bzflag evolved into a game played over the internet, albeit the design remains the way it was prior to it. Just like on the Internet, it was all designed with trusting everyone ( This i...

Re: BZFlag for an experiment
BZFlag was not designed to be played over the internet. Strange/odd. If you what you say is true, then why at https://www.bzflag.org/getting-started/ does it says BZFlag allows players to register their name, also known as their callsign. Some servers provide additional benefits for registered user...

Re: The current usage of BZAdmin
As to what the main thing(s) it is used for, points to a page at the bzflag wiki.
Bzflag wiki -> Client -> BZAdmin
I do not if anything could be added/removed to it as you requested.
As to why there is no link from Documentation or Help from the main site, I do not know for sure.

Re: F12 abuse, revisited
Hmm interesting.
Ok.
The plug-in should be fixed.
In the meantime while waiting for a fix I suggest either not using the plugin or telling users to make sure that they are dead before leaving the server if they intend to rejoin.
Please and thank you.
