You can press the Ctrl-C key combo to stop it within the Terminal.

I would wait to use more advance ways of starting/stopping/restarting servers until you learn the basics.

Keep pressing F8 until you are in that mode (it says at the top of the screen what your current mode is).

As for A Meteorite, I don't quite know why you are telling people if they are allowed to use the map and not Winny, who is after all the map author. Because Winny and I have already discussed this. We have been eye-to-eye on this map for months. To be honest, it's disappointing to see people releas...

No offense, but do you think you can model and texture like that?

OK. Didn't think so.

You said you compiled BZFlag, so I will assume you are on a *nix system. If you did make install , and left it at the defaults, $PREFIX is usually /usr/local . Specify this when starting BZFlag from the command prompt: -directory $PREFIX/share/bzflag For instance, if left at the defaults ( $PREFIX =...

You dont even need one to post a map. You get a license if you want no one to Take it and say its theres its like a Copy right. Um, wrong. Licensing "comprises the permissions, rights and restrictions imposed on software" that people have ( source - yes, I know using Wikipedia as a source...

You may have too many flags. Windows chokes on too many flags and will refuse connections.

Please post your config/map area that deals with flags.

Maybe you could even simply add a line that says "capture" to the code of an object, that line would automatically make the object translucent and passable in addition to "capturable". That would severely limit the complexity of a map if you only have one option to do something....

You must port forward it to your computer if you have a router, see portforward.com for more details and how-tos.

No, that's not the problem, Joe-Schmoe.

The problem is when BZFlag jumps between the cores, see this post for more info.

This is not an issue of BZFlag supporting the program. Google Sketchup Pro can be used fine as a map editor, since it can export to OBJ, but the free one can not.

If you export to OBJ, you can use BZFlag's included modeltool program to transform the OBJ into a BZW.

NOTHING IS IMPOSSIBLE!!! It is, if you want a BZFlag as we currently know it, on a PDA. PDAs simply don't have enough horsepower to play BZFlag remotely like on a PC. Even then if you did have enough horsepower, you'd need to find a PDA with hardware that has 3D acceleration (not happening). The on...

Use /countdown x to start a game, where x is how long you want the countdown to start at. You can end the game with /endgame , but only do this if the other team agrees. You can't set a time limit unless the GU added custom support for that recently. Just end the game early if the other team agrees....

is there an specific port i need to open ? The port you're using. Defaults to 5154, both TCP and UDP. You not only need to open port 5154, if you have a router, you must forward it to your internal NAT IP address (otherwise the router will not have a clue where to send the BZFS game packets to what...

Hmmm, that's very weird indeed. Have you tried deleting or moving your config.cfg? BZFlag will auto-generate a new one if it's not there and maybe your config became corrupt. You can find where config.cfg is located, depending on your OS, via the wiki . Ok, that worked. Although, on the chance that...

Perhaps you turned off messages in the console. There should be four tabs, iirc, right above the console, and the selected one shows what kind of chat is set to come through. Try pressing Shift-F1, Shift-F2, etc. to see if you can bring them back. That's not the problem, though. The console and rad...
