Just offering a different thought by way of explaining some players' behaviors wrt bz : I can see your viewpoint as coming from a competitive perspective, i.e. to excel, striving to be the best and kudos to you for the time/effort in your post. Not everyone who plays bz has this philosophy of gaming...

In a nutshell: If you plan on instantly rejoining to balance teams, etc, wait until you are dead before leaving, and that should avoid you being whammo'd.
That may entail you self-killing or allowing yourself to be killed.

Per Optic Delusion, the best time to f12 to avoid being whammo'd is to die first then f12 the F12 plugin has never been perfect, but it has performed it's intended purpose. Few times do players F12 to keep from being geno'd. At least much fewer than it was in the past. The price we pay is the occasi...

Short & sweet: Pesky, I'm sure you remember many years ago when some servers required a registered nick to play on them. They would allow an unreg'd player a min or 2 of play with msg ('register....etc' i forget exact wording) and then you were auto kicked. It certainly would damper the nonsense...

tbh, I don't see it happening often. When it does, most players known to me pm me about it and it's taken care of.
It does serve somewhat a purpose....as it came about because of f12 abuse.

When a player changes teams, then it usually takes 2 joins to bzflag LU server for the change to be reflected in his motto.
