BZFlag gets real

Some of my friends are real BZFlag fans so i wanted to surprise them with BZFlag-related gifts. Here are couple of pictures: http://i307.photobucket.com/albums/nn305/Agent_West/486030_555871091092514_239211201_n.jpg http://i307.photobucket.com/albums/nn305/Agent_West/269216_10200289898910731_2959930...

Re: Speed CTF

Nice looking map. really like the ground textures. Is there a plugin for something like "reverse thief" where instead of taking flag it passes flag? For some reason reading the descriptopn made me think of that. Not really sure if something like that would change the gameplay, but might le...

Re: A new matching variant for GU league

In my oppinion the idea is a bit confusing, especially for new members (why i'm kinda confused too). If you want to play but don't want it recorded, play an FM. If you are in the middle of an Official and a teammate needs to go, either replace with another teammate or let someone else (non-teammate)...

Dell D610 laptop (later replaced by HP Touchsmart tablet) 32" Vizio for a screen Custom built surround sound Off-brand wannabe Xbox controller. Worked well, although got better scores playing strictly with keyboard. Dream setup? Possibly one of them tank simulators like military uses to train t...

Re: "Trainer" map suggestion box

Textures got approved, so have put them into the map. Gave me "not downloading" error though. Could it be from textures too big? They are around 900x500 .png format.

Re: "Trainer" map suggestion box

Thanks, mr64bit. I am aware of the "matref" and "notexture" bugs and are working on fixing them. The "exit.png" texture is one of the few that are uploaded to images.bzflag.org (BZFlag's trusted texture hosting site) but it takes a few days to process them. Should be av...

Really like how you made the teleport with pyramids. Does it give you any "getting stuck" issues?

"Basic training"

Please help testing the center section of the map. Some parts of the map are still under construction and are buggy. I am more interested in general feel at this time.

Re: "Trainer" map suggestion box

It's taking a while, but i'm making progress! *crowd cheer*

Now, would someone like to make the 'billboard' explaining the MoFo Jump? Don't need to be much, just about 10 frames perhaps with text, explaining how to do it?
Can't do that myself, no gaming internet any more :(

Update!

~Instead of using bots i've decided to use two teams of human players (red VS blue). ~The "rooms" are now 60x60 instead of 30x30, still 30 tall. ~Changed the layout a little. Now there are six zones for each team: 1- Driving. Tells newbies how to drive the tanks. 2- Jumping. A basic "...

Re: "Trainer" map suggestion box

Agree, Jeff. As nice as it would be to have a "Tutorial" in the main menu, there is not one yet. As far as getting it to show up at the top of server list, that's kinda why the bots will be there. Not exactly a fair way, but it might be possible under the circumtances. Or set the "Mes...

Re: "Trainer" map suggestion box

We can always increase the number of players, although won't go over 3 yet, depending one how much stuff there will be.
Issue with multiple players would be them trying to shoot each other as soon as they are able, although with them being on same team a No TK thing can be used.

Re: "Trainer" map suggestion box

Thanks for the input! Was planning on making it One player/many obs (watch-and-learn kinda thing) plus bots for target practice. The rooms would have exits outlined in bright border with maybe an "exit" sign on it. Two rooms per concept might be a good idea, for now there will be billboard...

"Trainer" map suggestion box

Hey everyone! I'm currently working on a "trainer" (or "tutorial") map to have so that newbies would at least have an idea about how to play before they go onto a busy server, get their butt kicked, get discouraged, and leave. So looking at how most games made theirs, i'm making ...

Zombie hunt (should there be one?)

How many of you would like to see a Zombie hunt map based on this plug-in: http://forums.bzflag.org/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=16404&hilit=zombie ? The idea is to have one building (to begin with), perhaps like an abandoned hospital, with about 10-20 players total. Should i start working on somethi...
