Re: New Maps
Let's keep in mind that there are maps besides hix and duc that poroved themselves in league play already. We could have a look at the variety of maps that were used in the Open League. From the top of my mind there were: Grassroots (Babel) Tajitsu Octocage DuPi (Zaphod's Map) ###### I like the idea...

Re: Match Points and Lengths
Call it what you like, but keeping the two distinct formulas results in more points in ducati for the same amount of time. This, in essence, prioritizes ducati matches. Ducati players should be able to keep their preference for 20 minute matches, but in my opinion, a consistent time * formula = poi...

Re: Consolidation
So am I correct in thinking that this is the place to post general ideas and thoughts that don't fit into the other topics? If so, here we go: First of all, I really like the idea in general. It might draw new players into league play and help keeping those who are already active entertained. But I ...

Re: Match Points and Lengths
1. Shouldn't this whole thing be a new start? I don't think that keeping the evaluation system for both maps as it is, is a good idea. Gu players could feel at a disadvantage if a 20 minutes duc match is worth more than a 20 minutes gu match. While I agree that duc and hix ask for different styles o...

Re: Special events
Another special event I aways liked is LTS although I am not sure whether it is necessary to implement that in a league website.
+ now that we might be having a league with several different maps it would be nice to have some events based on the variety the league offers.

"LOTS of the players I've talked to didn't quit all video games, but did stop playing BZFLAG...Why? Because there is no measure to tell if you were beaten by a player with more skill or a player with a "better" client...So that's why I'm bringing this up because if we don't want BZ to...

Re: A new matching variant for GU league
Although I have commented on this thread two times already I feel like I have to add to what I said already again. While this discussion originally started with red-der's idea of implementing two random teams into the regular ladder and thus generating more opportunities for official matches a lot o...

Re: A new matching variant for GU league
3. Your solution of making these matches a set number of points won/lost of 2-3, would then take the TWO teams useless and only a hindrance in finding a match. Take out the TWO TEAM part of your idea, and just say "if two players on a team are looking for a match, they can match any two (or th...

Re: A new matching variant for GU league
I like the idea. This is basically funleague all over again but implemented in the guleague system. Of course I have some concerns. It will be hard for players, experienced but especially new players, to differenciate between a funmatch and some combination of an official match. therefore I'd sugges...

Players who witness others cursing could ask them by themselves to stop instead of running to the next admin. That would limit bans and save the admins some work. Admins should, as ...

Whatever has happened afterwards, The Angry Kitties was one of the best teams I've ever been in, but for sure the most wierd and funny. The teampage even had an "irc gate" :) Kool stuff red, very refreshing to see that there is still a glimmer of hope that the leagues will, after all, surv...

Many thanks to Rex and Zel for the Chesval concept. I think you forgot yourself, being the second team captain of team america, ...

Even if GU and BZF in general is losing players it will always stay the most entertaining video game ever (at least for me:). There will be people who stay by the game. I imagine a pretty small but very close comunity in a few years and I actually can't wait for it

"Last Tank Standing" hosted in the name of the OpenLeague
If you are interested in another great BZ-event you should definitely check this out: At the 22th of May the first “Last Tank Standing” Tournament ever will take place. It will be played on the almighty Grassroots map by Babel and hosted in the name of the OpenLeague. Players should begin to gather ...
