Re: How do you pronounce callsigns?

Louman = loo/man
gnusense = new/sense
ducati= doo/cat/ee

8-)

Knowing how to pronounce names is a must in BZFlag! :-)

Re: BZFlag in ESL (Electronic Sports League)

I highly doubt that it would be easy to get involved in ESL, but it's worth a try I suppose, if the top-bz-peoples think it's a good idea. It would definitely bring more people to the game...

Re: Language Spoiling The Experience

It saddens me that all the effort, dedication, hard work and money put into bzflag and the servers is spoiled by the increasing use of bad language. I consider myself to be one of the better players because I never curse, call people idiots, morons, J..A.. or worse. Score wise I am a terrible playe...

Re: RikerCup January 2009

For what it's worth, I'd say a match in the month of January, and then another in July. The cycle continues. Every six months, we match! :-) In 2010, we'd have another Riker. Plus, we'd get one more this year. Similarly to what beanpole and slime said, I think if we made it every three or four month...

Perhaps, rather than trying to set up an impossible five hundred player server... create some new maps and get your friends interested in the game. Every individual player could easily take part in doubling our BZCommunity if this "decline" bothers you so much. :-) Setting up a five hundre...

Don't play in the pillbox league. It's nasty. Absolutely nasty. In case you want to try it out, the website is http://pillbox.bzleague.com :P If you're new to the game, the pillbox style is an excellent way to learn dodging, teamwork, etc. Find GU or Ducati to work on more complex dodging and ricoc...

Obviously, players should never teamkill for the "greater good" of their team. Hunting a new player on your own team is up to you, but I wouldn't do it. Don't overcomplicate things. In both team bases there are Super Bullet flags and Shock Wave flags. With some careful planning and teamwor...

People don't seem to understand. When an enemy flag is captured, your entire team *is* rewarded. *points to teamscore in top right of screen*. That, and it gives you the advantage to grab flags and position yourself and such for when the enemy team spawns again. Don't forget the meaning of CTF.... i...

The topic is about lag at Missile War 2, we have established that, z[h]ero. :) Only thing is, the amount of players that visit this map is part of the lag issue. They really go hand-in-hand. (Eww, right? :P) Joevano said it pretty perfectly. Two servers would kill both of them. They don't read the r...

I played on this yesterday. I must say, it is rather entertaining... and maybe a tad frustrating at the same time. Besides being very slow in gameplay, and not having a lot of possibilities regarding places to jump or hide, it was pretty neat.

Genocide plays a key role in weakening the other team temporarily so that your team can cover some ground with their flag. Five shots, with an experience player, can be a menace. Three is annoying, but tolerable. On a big map with extra obstacles, one has to be incredibly careful with bullets. One b...

+1 since in a battle game you perform based on what is available and not what is morally right. Ehhhh.... I wouldn't say that.... by that logic, cheating is available and "okay." Nah. ;) As annoying as it is, I'd say this Del key is tactical. F12ing one's way out of a situation, however, ...
