Automated screenshots
Anyone have an idea of how difficult it would be to create a script/program that automatically created a screenshot of a bzflag world file? The script, ideally, would take such arguments as: input world .bzw, output file name, camera orientation, etc. I thought this would be really cool for creating...

lets see..1510 deaths * 5 seconds for each self-destruct..is 7550 seconds..about 126 minutes..just over 2 hours. wow. If he was using self-destruct, you would need to count the amount of time that it takes to explode, too (unless that server has an _explodeTime of 0). Don't know what the server set...

Yeah, that generally takes a long time. The entire configuration and compilation of the bzflag source code happens in that line. Not sure why you would need a bzflag client on the server, but I think what you typed should work. As far as the sudo problem, that just means that you haven't configured ...

This is not really the right place to discuss compilation and installation issues. I would recommend that you post your question on how to compile somewhere in the correct section. In summary, yes, you were to type those commands in the console, terminal, or whatever you want to call it. The output ...

adminListener plugin
Hi all. I've created a new plugin, called adminListener. When loaded, it sends all team conversation to admins who are observers. It does not send team conversation to admins who are playing (it therefore avoids the any kind of advantage problem). It sends a message in white text as follows "[P...

uh, oh! I'm having difficulty in getting this to work. I'm running Fedora Core 5 and the latest version of bzflag. In my configuration file, I used: -loadplugin /home/ck/flagOnSpawn.so,V:-1:G:0 I got no errors upon starting the server, but I couldn't spawn with a flag, either. Am doing something wr...

But I never added configureability or anything, which is why I didn't bother with a release. Yeah, this doesn't surprise me. It serves a fairly simple task, but I sought to make this as useful as possible within the simple functionality that it offers. Anyway, this will allow people to give specifi...

For some reason or another, I just thought this looked really pretty with the fog and all, so I snapped a screenshot.

Re: A novel approach to leagues
In the past 30 days there have been: 518 gu matches 174 ducati matches 25 pillbox matches Ah, okay, I didn't realize that. I'm not at all familiar with the GU league's popularity, but it seemed that when reading the match logs for Pillbox, Openleague, and Plosileague that matches were fairly rare o...

A novel approach to leagues
BZFlag is really doing well these days. The three or so top servers on the list almost always have 15-25 players at any given time, and more and more players are goining our ranks. The "Find server" option in the bzflag client is probably what is most helpful to assist new players in joini...

Yeah, just add/remove variables from the config file as you like. As you may have already guessed, the ones IN the file are the ones that CANNOT be modified. If the server told you that you couldn't /poll set, that means that the server is not configured to give players the POLLSET permission (which...

It is possible to grant people the POLLKICK, POLLBAN, and POLLFLAGRESET permissions without granting them the POLLSET perm (which allows the setting of variables). Is this what's going on? I described the loading syntax in my earlier post: Just list the variables that you don't want to ever be modif...

How can I get the verified people to only be able to vote for certain things? Gnurdux has a plugin that will only allow /set for certain variables. I'll try to find it sometime tonight, and let you know where it is. Well, I wasn't able to find it. I don't know if it was ever publically released. An...
