Re: ?, thru, what? wtf? etc.

First off, I am all for a separate GU Client that contains snick's bug fixes, maybe an optional full screen radar, or whatever else. Am I not mistaken that this has been tried like 50 times before, and has never gone through due to issues with the devs or licensing or something? Maybe it will work t...

Re: ?, thru, what? wtf? etc.

The solution to this is to create binaries with many "options" and "text configs" removed. This will give everyone a more equal client and much better representation of skill, and not config knowledge. As Saturos has said, tailoring and editing the config to the individual playe...

No, he didn't say anything about the "last" message. He said a "specific" message. But anyway... Yes, that would be a nice feature, slime. Now you just have to find someone that will code it. ;) Yes blast, you have the right idea that I was trying to get across. And that is why ...

Re: ?, thru, what? wtf? etc.

It is already hard enough for the league admins to detect cheating, most notably subtle cheats. Adding rules against changing the config file would only make it harder to detect cheating, and would in effect add to the 'air of suspicion' being mentioned by FiringSquad. In other words, adding rules a...

Time Stamps

Hope this hasn't been suggested before. I just thought it would be a nice new feature to add optional time stamps onto the chat box in-game. It could be made to toggle on/off in the GUI settings. This is one of those small things that throughout my years of playing BZFlag I have always kind of hoped...

Re: ?, thru, what? wtf? etc.

If you´re unhappy with people complaining about shots thru etc (which also maybe right!), then mute them. I dont see the point of this discussion. Setting new rules (again) just because some people write "?" or "wtf?", etc... would be quite childisch on my point of view. That do...

Re: ?, thru, what? wtf? etc.

I believe this is a good topic to bring up, FiringSquad. As for the typing the shorthands "?" "wth" etc., for me at least, I have seen two different instances where these are used. Some players type these shorthands because they actually are curious about a specific shot going th...

I believe Planet Mofo had a league at one point. If they did, I think it was fairly short-lived.

Re: Missile War League??

So teams with 15 would be hard to fix? Extremely. For the current active leagues, GU and Ducati, most matches are played with 2 players per team, or 2vs2. 3vs3 happens some of the time, but any more than that is a rarity. If a MissleWar league was created, it would be the same concept, and the idea...

Re: One Crazy Farout Idea

Nice idea dave, it seems to solve a lot of the time zone vs lag problems that other tournaments encounter, while still maintaining a competitive and fun aspect. However, like all great ideas, there are some serious issues that it may bring up. Such as; * At times, 5 extremely good players may find t...

Re: Team players?

A neat feature that could be implemented is an optional ability to choose the players that played in a match. That way, if certain referee's preferred not to take the extra time to search out all the players who participated in a match, they wouldn't have to. But of course, someone would need to cod...

Re: GU Style:Annual Veterans vs. Rookies

I don't believe admins vs everyone else would have the desired effect Danji is trying to establish. Vets vs Rookies would allow for some of the newer players (and even older players), who don't have much of a chance to be picked for the Riker Cup, a chance to play in a tournament. But, perhaps that'...

Try using the 'search' function, or just reading through a few topics next time, to see if someone else is having this problem as well. In fact, I would assume there are well over 15 total topics or so on this issue. That being said, try disabling your firewall, and see if you still have the problem.

Re: Official league match server..

BUT. I do take issue with the comment that aussies have a 'right' to a lag free server. Unless you personally host a server/map, you are like most of us, playing bzflag through the generosity of various server owners who lay out good money and allow us to play there. I believe he was saying this be...

Re: GU Style:Annual Veterans vs. Rookies

It's a great idea, very innovative and creative, and looks quite good on paper (in this case computer screen), but I'm not sure if it would work out in the end. You'll have to be more specific on the criteria needed to play for the veteran and rookie teams. For example, some people consider me as a ...

Re: Lagstats in replays

But if you say its significant that every shot goes through on replay then that assumes that the replay is reflective of what actually happened. It's completely up to the GU League Admins to determine whether any evidence from the replay server is significant. You are looking for a concrete answer ...

Earlier today I stumbled upon a very old website, the Fun League! For those who don't know what the Fun League is (rather, was) it is a league that makes fun matches sort of...official. Referees report the final score of the fun match, who participated in it, and the match is able to be ranked from ...

Re: Looking for the best mouse for BZflag

http://www.microsoft.com/hardware/mouseandkeyboard/ProductDetails.aspx?pid=045 I've used many mice, and this is by far my favorite one. It's not too fast (1000 dpi), but definitely fast enough for bzflag. It's size allows it to sit perfectly in my hand, and the design helps it sit comfortably. The m...
