Re: servers list publicaton
I just connected to your server fine, but some aspects aren't up and running, such as the global authentication system.

Re: servers list publicaton
I tried connecting to bzh.freemyip.com:5154 through the client right now and am getting an error. Also I get no response when trying to ping 185.183.62.241.

Re: Jumping via pyramid
Do you mean how to climb pyramids; move forward or backward while jumping from the pyramid? You can climb pyramids whenever the _noClimb server variable is set to 0 (the default is 1). -set _noClimb 0 If, however, you are referring to a technique of jumping on an above platform on a map that does no...

Re: Question about defender map on practice server
R3lax would probably know best since he is the one running the server in question, but if I were to guess, there is probably some additional configuration outside of the world options that you listed, that either adds to or overwrites those options. You should note that if there is conflict between ...

Looks quite nice! Just a slight typo I found in the attachments; seems to appear for all servers on the list.

Re: Tank intermitently stops moving
Ignore my previous post, I was on an outdated bzflag version at the time that didn't have this issue. This is definitely a SDL1 issue, thanks to blast we managed to figure that out some time ago. There are two main options for those who use SDL1 on default; either compile bzflag from source and incl...

Re: Official match with teams info
I would also like to add that any manually set motto gets automatically overwritten, regardless of whether the player is in a team or not. In other words, on those respective servers, the player will either have a team name in the motto or no motto at all, there is no (normal) alternative.

Re: BZFlag now on Flatpak and Snapcraft
If perhaps anyone is using Plasma Fedora Linux like me, I would, after installing it this way and running it, wholeheartedly recommend getting BZFlag via Flatpak before any other method. I was partly forced into it due to the SDL1 vs SDL2 issues, but have no regrets. A (short) step-by-step guide tow...

Re: Official match with teams info
You can easily check that yourself as it is, though. The motto field is automatically filled with the team name. If there is an official match in progress with the red team all having the same team name in their motto while the green team having mixed, you know it is an official match of that team v...

Jump Session Linger
Just as a person cannot pause while in air, it might be nice to have forced extended sessions while players are in the air; for a few seconds, around 5 or so. These sessions could only persist on the server's side, and not actually on the side of the client that closed the session. The idea arises d...

Re: HTF Event on Obstacle Course
This was a relatively short event. I would like to thank everyone who came, and especially those who actually stuck around and played. Due to the nature of the current bz playerbase, I kind of expected that there wouldn't be much interest for this sort of event, but I still wanted to see it though. ...

Re: Auto -re-/set defaults on first player join
I believe someone has actually written a script that did just that; reset all server variables once no players were on the map. It was either that or restarting the entire server with the default values. Uncertain.

1v1 Flagged FFA Courtesy
There currently exist unwritten 1 versus 1 rules or guidelines on flagged free-for-all (FFA) maps. Since they are rather known among active veterans but seemingly not among newer players, this post serves as a bit of an introduction to them. There are primarily two types of rules of general courtesy...

Around November 2018, but you should ask Benfish for details. As far as I know it was a move that was contemplated for quite a while.

I like the idea, but it seems like that could have been made a lot more straightforward and clear, as well as the fact that some entries in those tables are corrupt, an example being the last table

Re: voteRepeatTime mechanism
Yeah, I totally get what you're saying, Misadventure. Ideally, players shouldn't even be bothered with persistent abusers. I don't think the poll ban feature was even designed to counter them, but the ones who perform an abuse once and are then removed for good. The persistent ones who by-pass the b...

Re: voteRepeatTime mechanism
If someone has enough credibility and is trusted enough to by-pass the voting limitations, as well as is prepared to actively moderate a server, I believe it is in such case more elegant to simply grant them cop permissions, should that server not already have enough active cops and admins. I do, ho...
