Re: Switch radarsize/opacity

fwiw, you can use "toggle" to map those into one button. So instead of: bind A down "set linedradarshots 65" bind D down "set linedradarshots 10" You can use: bind A down "toggle linedradarshots 10 65" (yes, I know, kinda off topic, but kinda on topic at the s...

Re: King of the hill problem

Make a SEPARATE object the size of the zone, and texture that.

Optic suggested using an arc, semi-transparent, passable, and with a ratio of 0.0001

Make sense?

Re: Make a map. Please help

There are several map editors out there. By far, the most in-depth and thorough map editor, respective to the available features to the editor, the good ol' text editor. Look up "BZW" in the wiki, and read the man pages to learn your BZW. If that doesn't float your boat, try "BZEdit32...

Re: ?, thru, what? wtf? etc.

From someone mostly outside of the league, I find it quite silly that something like a few fancy config settings can have a bigger effect than teamwork, skill, and experience. I may be wrong, but is the config really that big of a deal? And is it really that hard to tell someone how to edit a simple...

lower the angular speed. (lowering the vertical wouldn't be bad either)

Re: Map Thumbnail

Yeah, I guess you're right about it not fixing the "wrong map" problem. But then, why would a server owner purposely put in a picture of the wrong map? the problem would be preventing a server owner from picking an image that may not actually be of the map, and may be inappropriate for al...

Re: Pre-Alpha Build: bzflag-2.99.15.20090122

That build is too old to see servers. Trunk changes protocol a lot, so a client as old as one day might not work. Try downloading svn and compiling for yourself if you want to test it.

Re: A thought on "unfair" capping

Just throwing this out here: FairCTF makes the game less fun. Period. I am sad that Two Castles has implemented it, honestly. It's not that it does a bad job, or that it's a bad plug-in. It does what it's supposed to do- disable CTF when teams are different. Unfortunately, often this plug-in is set ...

yosefk Why would you use a term for "pyramid" on a map without pyramids? The only pyramids on Desert War are very far from the epicenter of the map, unnoticed in regular play. When I played on that map, I didn't even notice them for a while. Missle war, for example, does have pyramids, an...

Re: Local play over LAN

BZFlag comes with a bzflag server "bzfs.exe" You can run it through the terminal, or use a program like StartBZFS. I'd recommend the previous. If you just start bzfs with no options, it will run a random map, with no jumping, no rico, and 1 shot, on port 5154. If you know your ip address, ...

Between enhanced and normal there is no competition, enhanced beats it hands down.

I'm wondering which people prefer out of the "3d" radars- enhanced or fast/fast sorted.

The latest dev code will not work with 2.0 servers, so you probably don't want it.

Re: How would you rate yourself

On big team servers, like MW, it depends a lot on the team. ie: if your team stays in the base, it's you versus 4 sniping lasers, 3 mean gmers, 2 hiding stealths, and 1 geno in the cen-ter. A 7 sounds good, if most people I play in GU are 8 and 9s, most average people are 5-6, and it's on a log10 sc...

ventrilo, according to a google search, is a VoIP program, aka, not what you want. Try XChat Aqua - http://sourceforge.net/projects/xchataqua/ Assuming it's just a mac port for xchat, it'll be trivial to connect to freenode and join #bzflag. The freenode server is : irc.freenode.net to join a channe...

Where you are in the command prompt is where it looks for the file.
By default, cmd is open to your user dir when you open it. Either cd to the bzfs dir (e:\games\bzflag2.0.10rc3), or use the full path.

how about integrate it like other games, a dialog shows up, (out of the way) and says "press F1 to vote yes, F2 to vote no."

no need for / commands, that's what confuses new players.
