I know how to start a test server and become admin on that test server (on Linux, anyway). The code to type into a terminal is: $ cd /path/to/map/and/config/file/ $ bzfs -world world_file.bzw -conf conf_file.conf -password password Then in BZFlag, you join the server and to be admin on it, you type:...

New Version (0.91)

Here is a new release of the map. It is in a .tar archive for your convenience (right...). This is mainly a bug fix release, in which I have fixed the arrows so that you can just drive onto them. The only other updates are some limits on the geno flag, adding two pyramids, and a secret thing you'll ...

Since you're on Linux, there is a nice man page on BZW code if you just type in a terminal:

I have the same problem. I use all the default settings for the mouse, except scroll down is shoot, and scroll up is jump.

I just used VIM for the editor. The conventions (I think you mean how I put all the objects in groups separated by comments in the BZW file) were just from my programming experience.

They don't have to be distorted, I got them looking a lot better. Just I forgot to take any screenshots of them then.

Giant Tanks

I was playing around on my local server to test my new map (you can download version 0.9 here), and started playing around with server variables. Here is what I did. Sorry about the poor quality of the first one.

My First Map

I have been working on this map for a while, and think it is just about ready for version 1.0 . It is distributed under the terms of the GNU GPL. The only things to do I see now are to fill up a lot of the empty area, and possibly fix the arrows a bit. Please give me any comments about this map.

The real problem is that if I don't want a program anymore, I can't just say something like "rpm -e bzworkbench" or "yum erase bzworkbench" if I compiled the source code. It would be a lot easier to do that than removing a bunch of files that were put who knows where in directori...
