Re: Wiki about BZAuthd
Regarding the argument of specifically pointing out on the account creation page that people should not use the same passwords across multiple websites, I think that's quite redundant at this point. This matter is vocal on so many websites already and speaks common sense that it might seem as unnece...

Re: Gloom
I've been collecting feedback and sharing ideas for changes to be pushed through to Bertman, with him actually applying them as he has had physical access to the bzw and conf files that are actually used, ever since we've agreed for him to host them for me. I've also tracked changes and applied them...

Re: Pro Flag : Progressive Flag Mode 2.0
Seems like an interesting concept to give the general gameplay a bit of a spin; looking forward to trying it out.

Re: Gloom
Thank you, Relax and ahs! Some further changes: Red team was swapped with green team, so the map is now green vs blue instead of red vs blue. This change was done in order to avoid confusion on whether the small red dots on the radar are the smaller death phydrv objects or red team tanks; it was esp...

Re: Gloom
In accordance to the feedback received during the testing phase, the following changes were applied: Teamkill disable has been pushed through successfully this time Tiny factor server variable has been increased a little, making the tanks with the flag easier to hit The single rogue slot has been re...

Gloom
CTF map titled Gloom. Dark sky, fog, calm rain; attempt at creating a gloomy atmosphere. Some server variables are modified a bit. There mainly aren't any superflags. It features a few tricks around, open to be found. The attachments include a screenshot that mainly focuses on the radar, and a zip t...

Happy New Year 2019
I would just like to take a moment and wish a happy new year to all users of the forums, be it regulars or casual visitors, who keep on checking out this hub and keeping the game active. It wouldn't have been possible without you; happy new year, and may it be a great one for each and every one of y...

That's actually pretty nifty. Hopefully the zone quantity doesn't affect the performance that much.

Re: Progressive Flag Mode
I was and am aware of the date the OP was posted, there was no hint of any changes that I caught, though. Was merely a remark that some changes might be wise to be considered if they aren't already ;)

Re: Progressive Flag Mode
It's interesting to see Stealth so relatively soon on the list, considering it is one of the most powerful flags in the game, alongside Wings perhaps, depending on the flap count.

Re: Default Flag Server Variables Rework
Perhaps, but that in itself would already make the situation more complex. My initial idea was to keep the matter as simple as it is now, not adding even the thinnest layers of choice and complexity, just balance out the matters with as least intervention as possible; I believe targeting flags would...

Re: Public Team Score Contribution Value
I had only talked about the matter via personal messaging with a few other players and all of them agreed, but I can't openly speak in their name. If they should ever drop by the forums and share their thoughts, that would be nice, but it would at the same token be a miracle to see them here in the ...

Re: Default Flag Server Variables Rework
Yeah, the default flag server variables were evaluated by assuming all of the server variables are set to default, including tank speed, shot speed, turn speed, tank size, gravity, etc. The idea is that, if a person runs a config file without using any of the -set commands to modify the default vari...

Re: Flips 3-Team CTF
Interesting map. Looks a bit similar to one pok-ta-pok map that had a four-way ctf, or at the very least, it brought back memories of it. Nicely done!

Re: Public Team Score Contribution Value
I will agree that having a single column present different values at different game modes might be further confusing. What I disagree with, however, is that the playerbase might find it disturbing that the ctf game mode has an additional column in the score board that presents the cap counter for ev...

Re: Public Team Score Contribution Value
So you are meaning to say that it is easier to have a scoreboard column at every game mode that simply displays something different per game mode, than it is to display something at one game mode and nothing at some other game mode? An example that I had mentioned many times already is the team scor...

Re: Abusive players...
Someone with the access to the bzfs logs would be able to check out the player's activity on their own servers as far as chat is concerned, usually that being the host. As such, I would forward this concern to them via a private message and let them take over from there. While it might not be of muc...

Default Flag Server Variables Rework
While any map creator can set the server variables however they see fit when creating a map, a lot actually choose to keep them at their default value. As such, to keep some sort of balance of flag power, the default server variables that affect flag potency should come at a fair and packed shape. A...

Re: Public Team Score Contribution Value
I wasn't aware of that thread; yes, a more simplified version of it, like the one that thread suggests, could go as well and would be very desirable. That thread's idea is essentially the core of this idea.

Re: Language, look in your own backyard first
One thing many people seem to miss is that this game is not centralized. For the biggest part, every server has their own rules, which are made up by the server owners, usually the hosts. Some servers have more severe rules set in place while some are more loose. Some have pure manual moderation whi...

Re: Public Team Score Contribution Value
Hey macs; thanks for the post, it brings up some meaningful arguments. As far as development is concerned, I will admit that I was unaware of how much changes and/or manipulation would be required to bring this idea to life, and was only focusing on the ending result from the viewpoint of a player. ...

Re: Public Team Score Contribution Value
sigonasr2's website that you linked is down, for reasons I won't go into, but admins of these forums are well aware of them. But yes, there were and are a few individuals that pull up stats externally. It doesn't have that much to do with the idea, though, as the core desire is to have the matter vi...
