Or you could use a normal music player to play a web radio station. Web radio causes you much less traffic than youtube and won't cause you significant lag.

Re: Minimum and Recommended Specs

Note that using plugins and high detailed maps may increase RAM usage of BZFS by a significant ammount.
Although I've rarely seen a BZFS using more than 30 MB.

Re: Can GM kill ST?

There is '_shotRadius' but as far as i know, it doesnt have any effect, as normal shots are handled as dots (points, not spheres).
It could be possible that GM is actually affected by this variable, but I'm not certain.

Re: Crash when running as a managed user on Mac OS

Will the crash always occur on death? This is the false interpretation of the code. The code excerpt is ran when BZFlag thinks its being quit, closed or killed. So either OSX thinks that app needs to be closed right away, the user closes it or its closing by foreign signal/failure. As the very comm...

Re: Duc vs GU match

Only admins playing? How lame is that?
Wouldnt it be more interesting to let more people participate in it and make it a round based tournament or something like that?
The trick is to get people involved, not letting them watch.

Well it's an obvious fake, because what you see on the radar is in no relation to what you actually see on 3D.
Additionaly tanks dont have inside faces so you would see right through them from the inside.

Re: Updated version of BZflag?

2.0.16 from April 2010 is the latest version: http://my.bzflag.org/w/BZFlag_2.0.16
Obtain the installer and just re-install BZFlag from the new installer into the same directory as before and you're updated.

Re: Hello All

You need to register your nick on http://www.guleague.org . Then send a gu site mail to ts or orbit requesting to be added to gu spawn list. This is really what you should do. The GU website will register you by your first log in automatically. Be sure to log in with your BZBB username and password.

Re: BZFlag for DS!

BZFlag on iOS-devicec and the PSP is simply possible via remote desktop applications (maybe with some custom enhancements, but thats basically the trick). Let a computer run BZFlag and remote control it via your portable device.

During the meeting it has been decided that such a meeting really had chances to start something 'new' and that for such a 'new' thing C# would be the right language. Thats basically it.

Re: Map Preferences

If there were many people wanting to play a particular map at the same time, they would do so. Playing on a crowded server, just because there's the party going on doesnt make sense to me.
Eventually you'll have to wait 5 - 10 minutes on an empty server for someone to join.

Re: Ideas for Image/Resource hosting site

It would be nice to have every image 'tagged'(like they do in blogs) so that if it was wood(or any other category, or multiple), the uploader would tag his image as 'wood' and then you could browse a corresponding category. You could even have a tree browser with categories. Another nice feature wo...

There is no official 64 bit release of BZFlag as far as I know. You either have to modify and compile it yourself or ask/wait for someone to do it.

32 bit programs will run on a 64 bit operating system with the 32 bit libraries installed.
64 bit programs will NOT run on a 32 bit operating system.

Seconded. BZFlag doesn't make enough use of memory to benefit of a larger address range (in my tests it's using around 40 to 50 MiB).

I don't see any point in the specified license that would forbid someone to download and play your map, it just forbids to change the map.

Re: Server won't find config file

I typed in bzfs -conf "C:\Program Files\bzflag2.0.16\misc Config" Which is what you did wrong. You need to point -conf to a file. For example, the file is named config.cfg and is located in C:\configs\ , then you would run bzfs -conf "C:\Configs\config.cfg" . BZFS doesn't excuse...

Ah Ha! You are having an elevated ground! Check with http://my.bzflag.org/w/Material and assign no-radar-materials to objects you dont want to be visible on the radar. Be careful with that, players easily get confused when there are objects missing on the radar. I would add something to make the riv...
