Re: bzflag.allejo.io servers
Today from approximately 2pm to 2:30pm Pacific time, I had to perform unscheduled maintenance on my server. One of my hard drives on the server entered into read-only mode and virtually crippled my server. I was unable to take down BZFlag servers gracefully so that is why they remained on the server...

Re: BZFlag Postgame
MOAR GIFTS THAT LITERALLY NO ONE ASKED FOR. Last update, I shared that I was now generating thumbnails for the maps on which replays took place on; this update builds on top of that! I have now added the ability to classify/differentiate between maps. This means I now have a dedicated page listing a...

Re: Flag Cap Counter & League Team Chat
I've done some work myself regarding this. (Actually simply a modification of one of my stats plug-ins.) Display of flag captures isn't so nice, but perhaps may still be of interest. If it's flag captures and player statistics you want, I gladly welcome help on the Postgame project where I have alr...

Checkpoint - (the maintained version)
Here is my reimplementation of the Checkpoint plugin originally written by mrapple . This version of the plug-in allows for more configuration options and more features for players. Checkpoints are a way to create zones within maps (often in obstacle courses) that allow players to save their spawn l...

Re: bzflag.allejo.io servers
Greetings everyone! As you can see, it's been almost a year since my last update here. That's because my servers have been running mostly on autopilot as I have been working on a number of other things. I have some updates to my Jumping Skills servers. These servers are automatically generated every...

Re: BZFlag Postgame
If possible, map animation would be an amazing addition to map thumbnails. Animating what? Player movement and shots? Player movement is doable since the server knows all of that, however, in order to implement shots, you would have to reimplement all of the shot collision logic that the client has...

bzflag-rendering.php: Generating map thumbnails in PHP
I'd like to introduce my latest work: rendering map thumbnails! Now, this isn't an original idea; PyBZFlag and blast's map thumbnail script have already accomplished this in the past. I'm here to share a new implementation of this feature thanks to some initial proof-of-concept work by ashvala. Here...

Re: BZFlag Postgame
I come bearing gifts and a project update. During the past few weeks, I have been working on unpacking world data from my replays and writing a rendering library for drawing radar previews of those maps. Here is what it looks like: Hix Map Preview.png Duc Map Preview.png With the introduction of bei...

rrlog: Exporting replays as JSON
About a year ago I announced BZFlag Postgame and it's been pretty well-received :D I also announced that at the core of that project was the bzflag-networking.php library. Another tool I built at the same time (but never shared it on the forums) was my PHP port of rrlog . The original rrlog tool is ...

Shouldn't this be committed to the plugin in our main repo?

For maps that used the physics method that blast mentioned in his post, take a look at flying_popcorn's Elevators & Escalators map and his post about ramps in maps.

Mapped Death Zones
If you've noticed a pattern to your spawning lately on Apocalypse , it's probably because of the latest plug-in we've been using; introducing "mapped death zones." This plug-in introduces two custom map objects to map makers: DEATHZONE and SPAWNZONE . If a player dies within a DEATHZONE ob...

Re: Plug-in Starter (Now for 2.4.x!)
My plugin starter now has an editor for creating and registering custom map objects. With that, bzflagPluginStarter3 has reached feature parity with bzfPluginGen in that there's a UI for everything bzfPluginGen supports.

Re: Question about http://leaguesunited.org/admins
- Developers: people who actively write or formerly wrote code for the league or host league servers - Referees/Cops: people who can kick troublesome players and can enter/review matches manually (I think). Can also temporarily ban players so they can cool off - Administrators: Like cops/referees bu...

Re: Plug-in Starter (Now for 2.4.x!)
Greetings! Last winter I had started a rewrite of my plug-in starter to be more modular and never managed to finish it; until a few days ago that I started development again. My project has been split-up into three separate projects: - aclovis ( GitHub ) - A TypeScript library for generating C++ pro...

Re: Official match with teams info
The reason I originally opted to not show something like, "Current match: Team John vs Team Jane" is because mottos are not 100% reliable when players switch teams (which used to be a very common thing). The current motto that is displayed is the team they were on since the last time they ...

Re: VPNBlocker
It certainly is possible to modify the plug-in to allow registered users to connect via VPN, but disallow unregistered ones to connect via VPN. Or, you know, you could read the README and see that this plug-in looks for an ALLOWVPN permission. You can add this to your group file. VERIFIED: +ALLOWVP...

BZFlag Postgame
For the past few months, I've been teasing this project on Discord and now I've finally gotten around to deploying it and importing my ~8700 LeaguesUnited replays. I'd like to introduce to you, BZFlag Postgame . Postgame is a Symfony project that reads replay files and summarizes them. Taking a look...

Re: Auto -re-/set defaults on first player join
serverControl allows you to reset the server by it shutting down and letting a bash script restart it; look at the `ResetServerOnce*` settings. Without restarting the server, a simple plug-in (or PR to serverControl) could be added to just make a call to bz_resetALLBZDBVars.

VPNBlocker
With the unfortunate rise of VPN abuse , I was forced to write a plug-in to auto-kick players who were on VPNs. Since then, I've kept the plug-in private and have shared it with other server owners but it's now time to release it to the public and let others use it or improve on it. Note, this plug-...

Are you suggesting to create a full-blown map editor as a web app? Or are you simply talking about websites that will let you drag files and it'll run them through modeltool for example?

Re: bzflag.allejo.io servers
Welp, looks like my ISP will be migrating some networking stuff in the data center where my server is hosted. The time frame I was given was June 29th from 9am to 9pm EST... Point is: at some point on the 29th, my server will lose its internet connection temporarily. Whether or not my services will ...

Re: OAuth2 for BZFlag.org
Simply for reference or if you want example usage, the Leagues United site uses the validate_token() from checkToken.php to log in users. Same goes for Roconut (GitHub), however Roconut uses an abstracted out bundle for Symfony applications.
