I'm sorry, I still don't understand. Is users.txt a blank file? Yes, it would be. As well as the password database. You do need stuff in your group database, that define the permissions for each group. EDIT: I should add that a password database is not required . It just allows you to use the /regi...

You need to specify a group database, user database, and password database, with the -groupdb, -userdb, and -passdb options, respectively. Though, local groups are not recommended anymore. The developers and server owners generally recommend that you request global groups and add people via the &quo...

Um, no. But patches are welcome. EDIT: In case you weren't aware, this is not even technically feasible. HTML is a mark-up language for presentation. That's it. BZFlag is such a complex game, it couldn't even be programmed in JavaScript (well, you could , but no one would want to, and it'd be thousa...

(no, you don't pay money to become one, and no, you can't become one bye asking). Yes, some servers do bribes via money. And, yeah, you can become one by asking (those are the servers you avoid because an inherit problem with asking is that all the little kiddies want it). By the way, it's "by...

Just /setgroup the particular permission with a minus sign in front of it. Ie, -say , which will remove the say permission from that user. Group files do not have any problem with interchanging permissions and groups, so that is why this works. Just tested it, and it doesn't seem to work. /setgroup...

I'm not sure how to remove a certain permissions on a player-to-player basis (although I've heard it can be done), but you can create another group that denies the perm, and use /setgroup to add the user to that group (effectively removing that permission) when desired. Just /setgroup the particula...

Staring a bzleague league is not difficult, keeping it alive is. We have witnessed the OpenLeague, Plosileague, Adrenaline, Trix league, ... and many more with little to none success. Some people make a map, a web site and voila! we have a new league. Plosileague is not dead, it's just asleep. Most...

ShadowSpectre I don't think you understand. "Modifying the client data to mask all unique parameters like the TCP encapsulation or the TCP timestamps" would not "seriously slow throughput," and, in fact, would most likely be faster than getting "unique parameters" (lik...

Either way, you'll have to download it. This means either downloading the binary distribution (which includes BZFlag, BZAdmin, and BZFS) or the source (which you have to compile). If you download the source, you can use the configure flags --disable-client and --disable-bzadmin to only build BZFS an...

Both teams will still be concentrating on capturing a flag, regardless of it's color.

Though, if you want, use the HTF plugin distributed in the source as an example.

2.1.13 is not the current development version. There was a recent protocol break, bringing it up to 2.1.14. No, it's not likely many more will be hosting on these development versions. That is because you must build it yourself or specifically ask a developer to build you one. Once beta builds start...

Alright, first of all, I can't speak what the developers or Tim Riker is feeling. I'm just using common sense and what I have heard. The reason it has not been upgraded is due to the large amount of custom mods they have in use. Even the global login relies off of phpBB (that means if you do anythin...

I always strive, as well as encourage, people to be civil while playing. I guess if you could, you would use the computer's MAC address. Well, the client would have to tell the server it's MAC address, so it could be spoofed to whatever the person wants. If someone didn't want to mod BZFlag to manually spoof their MAC, most routers allow people to change their MAC addre...
