Compiling from SVN - cant enable sharing

Trying to get a new 2.0.13 server up an running on a new box (Ubuntu Server (Hardy?)) at bzflag.enuffsaid.co.nz autogen.sh <ok> ./configure --enable-shared --disable-client --disable-bzadmin <ok> make <ok> make install <ok> Run server...

Enhancement to GU League website

Howdy, on occassion when looking at the matches played here: http://gu.bzleague.com/index.php?link=fights I find myself thinking, wouldn't it be great if I could just click on a match and see who played in it, and/or see which replay server (and match number) where I could go and watch it. Yes, I kn...

Re: name removed from talk spawn?

I don't want everyone to know because I don't want to get sucked into the game like I used to be, I don't want to be contacted by anyone and I don't want to join any teams, all I want is to play when I have the time...obviously nobody could understand that, so if I can't have it like that then I gu...

Well that's great news, thanks.

ummm - do you mean a sub-domain like nzl.guleague.org pointing at the same ip as enuffsaid.co.nz or putting up a website somewhere?

Re: Official league match server..

ok thanks Jeff, works fine with the correct source  Server is now running on port 5158, version is 2.0.13. The replay server is up on port 5159. There is even a "test file" (just me driving around for 60secs :) on there which can be played confirming that the replay side is working. ...

Ummm, the fact that I'm seeing this warning: WARNING: Publicly listed bzfs servers must login using the '-publickey <key>' option. Re: Official league match server..

Not that it's crucial in some way, but why not use 2.0.13?.. https://bzflag.svn.sourceforge.net/svnroot/bzflag/branches/v2_0branch/bzflag/ Two reasons: 1. I'm not sure that the svn version is considered 'stable' - is it? 2. I don't have an svn client on the server, so a few extra steps for me :wink...

Re: Official league match server..

Ok, I've disabled lagwarn and lagdrop. Upgraded to 2.0.12 - which fixed the 5 second countdown timer. Added the /timelimit plugin so that fms can be set to whatever time you want. Permissions re-jigged so now only GU-League admins (and me) are admins (can someone test this and confirm its working?)....

Re: Official league match server..

Yes, that was it thanks (upgraded to 2.0.12). The only sources I can find are for 2.0.12 - I presume that is the current stable release, and 2.0.13 is the cvs version?

Re: Official league match server..

As much as I enjoy people discussing my "integrity" on an anonymous public forum  it's really pretty simple: its up to the GU-League admins to say which servers can be used for official matches and which cant. So, lets move on... A couple of server type questions: What generates the ...

Re: Official league match server..

I must admit that until two weeks ago, I had never heard of this player in the league before. Since then I've talked to him a couple of times - he seems nice enough, but a short convo or two doesn't say much. That's most likely because up until a few weeks ago I wasn't in the league! :P Llrr and Mo...

Cant bind mouse scroll wheel in Suse 11.1

Howdy, BZF Client is 2.0.12 on Linux (Suse 11.1). I'm using the standard Suse 11.1 version of BZFlag from the repositories; I have not compiled from source. My mouse is a standard Microsoft Wheel Mouse Optical (wired-usb), which works fine in all other applications in KDE - ie scroll wheel up/down s...

Yeah, I used to get this all the time too. I'm also on Suse 10.2. I'm pretty sure its either a driver issue or an X config issue. I can't remember how I fixed it - I think it may have been an update on the driver. Check nVidia's website for a later driver.

Boxy War Laser Sniping

Howdy,
I would like to host this map for us southern hemisphere laggers, as we lag way to much to play.

But I cant seem to find it released here.

Does anyone know who made it, and whether they've released it publicly?

Cheers

Yes, well, my post was edited to remove the statement " ...and assuming this is not an aprils fools joke... " Who did that I wonder? Jeff's insistence this was real, and especially his 'crusade' against Constitution's fork, had me thinking it was real after all. Nice one. Oh, and for the r...
