Good idea. I'll be fine tuning it more as well. It's still far from finished.Grumbler wrote:you might want to add a field covering what version the map was built for.

I'm working on adding a Maps section to the Stats.bzflag.org site. Right now it lists the maps with 15 per page. It shows a thumbnail preview, title, description, author, date it was added, and the suggested server settings. It also allows you to download the maps, and counts the downloads. You can ...

I made a script to take all the BZFlag maps in a directory, render a thubmnail of each, and then display them with a download link to the associated map file. I also used this as a benchmark. There was a total of 104 maps. When I configured it to make 1600x1600 images with alpha blending and line dr...

Map thumbnail script
Here is my "work in progress" map thumbnail script. It's done in pure PHP and uses GD to make the images. You can view examples of it, just note that it's not done yet. This is all generated in real-time from actual map files. It's hosted on my home computer, so it might not be up or respo...

Re: CREATING A PUBLIC SERVER
I run BZFLAG in WinXP, and I would like to know what should I do to create a public server. Hosting on Windows has been know to have problems. Clients get dropped randomly, there is more lag, etc. #Require UDP -requireudp People could find me in the find server list, but when anyone came in, on the...

I suppose my power supply could be outputing faultly voltages too. I'll check the voltages in MBM5. The good news is that it's still under warranty. But this is the computer I use to connect to the Internet, so I'd hate having to take it in for repair if it's something simple. Edit: I checked the vo...

It's only at 48 degrees C, so it's not overheating. All fans are working as they should. I changed a jumper so that it used the Award BootBlock BIOS chip instead of the main one, and then it didn't beep. However, that chip only allows you to boot off a floppy disk, mainly for flashing your main BIOS...

It's a totally random beeping. I'm aware of what the POST beep codes sound like, and that's not what this is. Does it the most right after turning it on, but continues afterward. There isn't a time that it stops (unless I turn the computer off ;)). It's doing it right now as I'm typing this. Gonna s...

Computer Beeping Constantly...
A few weeks ago, my sister told me she shut the computer off because the screen was blank, and wouldn't turn on. After turning it back on, the little speaker on the motherboard started beeping several times a second at one of about 4 similar tones. The beeps are very short, and it was doing it durin...

Blast, I'm using the same card as you: GeForce FX 5200 PCI on WinXP and lately anytime I fire up bzflag my fan kicks on and goes non-stop. I'm not sure if this could be causing a jumping tank effect on my screen. I'm downloading the current drivers as we speak, just wondering if you or anyone else ...

Re: Minimizing the window, and other (newbie) questions.
I've started playing the game, and I've tried to find some option in it that would allow me to have windowed mode, or just look at my desktop, without quitting the game. I like to have AIM open at the same time, and it would be very helpful if I could look at new messages while playing. I'm running...

Normally if something is corrupted, it won't work at all. If he's running the game for a minute, it leads me to believe it's not a corrupted driver problem. It could, however, be a program running the the background causing a problem. My Windows 98 install only has 2 tasks running: Explorer, and Sys...
