Re: Chain3d
Wow, looks pretty good! It is a tiny bit similar to my recent Lasers Battle one. I don't know you very well but, as far as I could see (in example: Blood Bath and Coloratus), your maps seem to have a good mix between art and fun.

Re: Does BZFlag ever get boring?
Yes, BZ is a great game! Maps which are fun are, also, classic ones and randomly generated ones. But we always have to remember that what helps to enjoy the game, apart of the technical and artistic stuff, is the good ambience.

Re: BZ running with WINE emulator?
I guess, if you are running Debian over a x86 simulated machine (virtualization), you could first try to compile a linux BZ version locally ( Compiling on Linux - Help for Beginners (and Not So Beginners ). In the other hand, I run BZ with Wine long time ago and worked really fine (I didn't notice a...

Re: Servers Classification (Protected Mode #2)
These acronyms are not defined anywhere in the game client and unless players frequent the forums, they'll never know what the acronyms mean. When a player joins any classified server, he will get the full name of the acronym, at start. In example: "'Protected Mode' Family-Friendly"; pret...

Re: Servers Classification (Protected Mode #2)
Since, it seems, I am having some problems trying to make some owners strictly follow the rules (which are not hard both to understand and to follow but which need to be enforced strictly, to make the entire system really work), I feel forced to change a bit the codes , which will also help, I under...

Re: Servers Grouping and Names
I forgot to add 4 'meliodas' servers to 'allejo' and nowadays it has 2 more servers too; also, new total is 115; then:
allejo: 47 --> 4 --> -43
Total (includes all): 115 - 72 = 43 (37.39 %; near 1/3).

Servers Grouping and Names
Based on own and other people's experiences/ideas (including recent allejo's one ), I suggest owners to make servers groups which would allow us to have much less options to deal with at once. This could make people both come together and increase on amount. The suggested maximum would be, approx., ...

Compiling on Linux - Help for Beginners (and Not So Beginners)
I write this since there are not binaries for Linux (directly from this project; though it's a normal procedure) and since compilation is always (in general) a hard process, specially for beginners. In this example we will compile and install the latest stable release in a local way: Download the so...

Re: How Does a Server Allocate Flags Without "zoneflag"?
As I understand, JeffM's words are saying that anyone is free "to reuse and host" 2 Tanks since it is published on forums and does not indicate any licenses*. Correct me if I am wrong (or correct JeffM's topic if it is not legally right). In the other hand, as blast said, saving the world ...

Re: Time of Day
I understand the time of the day and the location are somewhat buggy (they fail sometimes). What I got to work, mostly, is running my clients with '-latitude' and '-longitude' (though longitude is inverted about sign). I see there is an option '-time hh:mm:ss' which would make it fixed as you want, ...

Re: MUCH better robots
I run 'autopilot' bots for long time now and they are enough fun. To avoid lot of comsumption just iconify them; to run lots of them, make a script. Then, when they run, press: '9' (autopilot), 'i' (spawn) and F4 (iconify) on each one. All is run windowized too by using '-window'. If want to see the...

Re: List Server Usage Policy Suggestion: 'Autopilot' Bots Limit
It is not very clear in the sense it says "server owners", then what if a player wants to run bots, in example? Also, it says "to artificially inflate their list position"; an owner could run 1 bot, i. e., to improve the playability of a map (good intention). If the intention of ...

List Server Usage Policy Suggestion: 'Autopilot' Bots Limit
"Server owners who (...) use "bot" clients to artificially inflate their list position (...) may be removed from the list and/or have access to other BZFlag public services revoked" (bold format added by me; https://wiki.bzflag.org/List_Server_Usage_Policy). Since this rule doesn...

Re: New functionality/plug-in request: dynMotto
I correct myself: the FM decision I told about was between 10-14 people approx. and took *more than 20 minutes* to finish.
JeffM: if I understood well, this has not to do, necessarely, with BZ development because I didn't ask for it as a requirement.

Re: New functionality/plug-in request: dynMotto
Recently an fm took about 10 minutes to start. There were approx. 14 people there. The workaround (*1) is rather easy to be developed. Please, League Council, consider accepting it. If the trouble of some rejoinings *while a match is being played* is too much, then a new rule could be written: "...
