Updated build 260206 released. I have updated the installer to include bzadmin. This updated build contains only a spawn update which I think is bzfs only. It may (or may not) be related to my recent spawn thread . bzfs will not work as there are problems using the version compiled with VC8. I have ...

Maybe a MSI script should be used for 2.2?

Could be integrated into the main build sequence

If teammates usually spawn together that would explain it.

Thanks ;)

Two funny things happened to me todays on vipers. I was jumping and then all of a sudden the whole blue team (literally) spawned in front of me. I shot two of them down but I died within seconds. A few minutes later I got SW and then another team player (Shadow Dragon) started following me around be...

Spawning

How does the server decide where the client spawns?

Earlier almost the whole of the opposition spawned in front of me which leads me to believe it isn't that random

The error above is the error given by the debug version.

The release and optimised builds just crash straight away

/flag, fully implemented?

/flag doesn't appear to work when you are on a building, although you can see the flag move on the radar.

Is this a bug?

BZFS under VC8

In my previous thread I managed to get everything to compile. So far everything works except for bzfs. When bzfs (and lots of the other modules for that matter) compile they spit out errors stating that strings have been changed because the code is deprecated. If I start a p3 optimised version of bz...

http://my.bzflag.org/serverlist.php << I don't believe this is the serverlist bzflag uses. It probably uses an html less page

If you cant manually connect to any of the servers then it is either a bzflag or firewall problem.

If you can connect to a local server that would suggest that it was a firewall problem and vice-versa

I am using VS2005 (VC8).

Microsoft compilers are the only ones compatible with the directx SDK :(.

For anyone interested here is the 23-2-06 CVS with my own Innosetup script.

Please report any errors you find.

P3 CVS nightlys. Interested?

Now that I have solved my compile problems I was considering uploading P3 optimised CVS nightlys (Windows, v2_branch) to rapidshare. This would give you the latest 2.0.x branch without having to wait for the 2.0.5 betas. It should also give you better performance as it is Pentium 3 optimised. [s]Any...

Looks like I had checked the dependencies in corewin.vsprops rather than corewin_express.vsprops.

That problems fixed now, thanks.

Any chance a working installer script could be added to CVS that just bundles bzflag and bzfs (with the relevant graphics and dlls)?

Right thats good. Is there any chance a more modern installer script could be uploaded or at least one that just packages bzflag / bzfs?

Also have the dependency changes been committed to CVS or am I the only with experiencing the problem?

Both version 1 and version2 give errors also version 2 gives less errors. </IGNORE> The errors are missing html files like: File ..\..\..\man\bzflag.html File ..\..\..\man\bzfs.html File ..\..\..\man\bzw.html Fil...

I have managed to get bzadmin to compile. In the latest CVS the additional dependencies are: ws2_32.lib winmm.lib odbc32.lib odbccp32.lib libcurl.lib A page in the latest readme.win32 links to a microsoft page about integrating the Platform SDK with VS2005. It talks about editing a file to add the d...

What is the point of having -BZFlag 2.0.0, 2.0.2, 2.0.4 Why not have 2.0.4 and the latest release from CVS. Having old 2.x versions makes no sense. Also you might want to make sure that the livecd has the nvidia and ATI binary drivers on it otherwise bz will have a really slow framerate. Have you co...
