Also, how complex is the map? I was on a server a while back that had an amazingly complex map, using many of the new graphics features. The server wasn't very fast and whenevwer someone joined (downloading the new map), the lag spiked significantly.

Well said, L4. Instead of avoiding them or calling them names, how about giving them a hand - a little instruction, friendly advice, whatever it takes. We welcome newbies at secretplace (but we don't tolerate foul language, cheating, etc.).

Groups must be created by a board admin. There is a forum called "request your groups here" - go there and ask for what you want. Once you've done that, you'll be set up as the group mod and it will be obvious (and easy) to add/delete people from there.

I didn't answer. It depends entirely on the map and game type (FFA, CTF, rabbit, etc.)

markog:

The new version incorporates a few new features, but it also fixes a lot of bugs that were discovered in 2.0.0. So, yes, it's better.

T-Online users

If you are a T-online subscriber and you think you have been wrongly banned from the secretplace server, you need to do the following: 1. Register the callsign you play with here in the forums. 2. Once your registration is complete (including verification), send an email to bzflag@dragon.org, asking...

I just tried out the map for a bit while it was on your rotating server. I really liked it. I would leave the track as it is. The buildings are pretty cool, too.

Cjohn, I saw you try and log in earlier. I see what is happening - either send an email to bzflag@dragon.org or PM me and I'll help you get it sorted out.

CJohn,

Try sending an email to bzflag@dragon.org. The admins on secretplace can then check to see if you got accidentally caught in a ban.

Secretplace and dragon are owned by the same person and they use the same ban file. If you think you have been banned, send an email to bzflag@dragon.org and include your name, your IP and host and any information that will help the admins determine if you were banned purposefully or accidentally.

Someone wrote a patch (I think it was vicious/skooguy) that is currently being used on Secretplace. If someone turns on autopilot, they get a server message announcing that autopilot is not allowed on the server. If they do not turn it off, they will be autokicked the moment they are killed. It seem...

If you are refering to the "k" command or to "/silence", ANY player can do that, and it only affects his game experience. I am not aware of any method by which the player can be silenced server-wide.

One Suggestion re: your site

I have one suggestion re: your webpage for HTF - you've linked downloads for high and regular resolution of bzflag 1.10.4. However, 1.10.6 is the latest version out. You may want to link that version instead.

Cheers,

Calling all server owners!

We would like to revamp this little section of the board and make it a bit more user friendly. Many of you have provided info on your servers in the past, but much of what is out there needs to be updated. So, if you have a server that is currently active, please post a NEW MESSAGE in this section. ...
