Permissions Problems

I have both the FAIRCTF permission and the +ALL permission, yet I do not have the permission to run the /ctf command. I'd tell you the revision, but I can't find the version in the README file or anywhere else.

When I do a "/showperms" it doesn't list fairCTF.

Any ideas?

I've been shammed!

I agree. Its not that {janis} just submitted it, but when I got the map, janis had put an -admsg in it saying the map was by him/her, and in private messages led me to believe that s/he created the map.

Laughable

A few things to point out: 1) Running a poll, and posting a complaint on a board other than the server's sounds more like griping than discussion. 2) Remember that the server is not a public asset, and is provided and maintained free of charge. Just because its free, doesn't mean its public. Your st...

website

Along with the new server is a new website. It includes a monthly ongoing scoreboard, stats, forums, screenshot section, etc. Make sure to stop by and check it out.

Is there any servers actively using this besides SilverCat using this?

Ducati, you're offtopic.

Knights, your problem is that you're using a period to seperate the plugin file and config file, where you need to use a comma.

Code: Select all

-loadplugin "C:\BZFLAG\PLUGINS\NAGWARE\nagware.dll,C:\BZFLAG\PLUGINS\NAGWARE\config.conf"

ducati,

You have a backslash in front of the config file that doesn't need to be there

Nagware Plugin

We've stopped using the revoke script and are now using the Nagware Plugin by menotume . This plugin sends a message to unregistered players every x minutes and optionally kicks them after y minutes. Its quite configurable and is working VERY well for us so far. Other popular servers are encouraged ...

Great! Req's

That'd be great. Basically this is what is needed: Stage 1: CGI/PHP that allows a user to edit a mapfile in a textarea. The webpage would load the file on page load, and save changes to it on submit. Stage 2: Syntax checking. bzfs runs several checks (you'd have to look at the code to get them all) ...

This is a bash script written for *nix systems. I would be happy to rewrite it as a MS-DOS bat/cmd script, but the problem is, I can't think of a way to get the playercount w/out an external program. I'll think about it a bit. Right now, the only thing I can think of is to require the use of wget . ...

Registrations Up!

Tonight, we had 24 players online. This wouldn't be unusual if it weren't for the fact that they were ALL REGISTERED ! I believe this script is really making a difference. Since we began running it Dec 30th, there have been 284 registrations. Of course, I can't take credit for all of them, but I bel...

Pheonix?

Set variables are strange. They behave strangely, and are a hassle to register & set. If you want to do something like that, I suggest a plugin. Patches welcome. You may notice that mapwiki is gone. It was lost when we lost the last server. Someday I may get around to rebuilding it. If a php nu...

there is its called the crontab You completely missed the point. In the bzfs crontab, I'd put: 0 0 * * * @/var/bzflag/bzmidnightcron each time it was midnight, bzfscron would read this file (due to the @ operator) and execute the commands that are in it. In addition to making the bzfscron file look...

Sure.

in /usr/local/bzfs/server/groupfiles/standard:

Code: Select all

EVERYONE: +SPAWN +TALK
in /usr/local/bzfs/server/groupfiles/regonly:

Code: Select all

EVERYONE: -SPAWN +TALK
VERIFIED: +SPAWN +TALK
Or whatever you'd like it to be...

Then in your bzfs config:

Code: Select all

-groupdb /usr/local/bzfs/server/groupfiles/5154

bzfscron includes

What do you mean by "include cron task files on the fly"? There should be a way to reload the crontab after editing it, but it's been so long since I wrote it I'm not sure What I mean is there should be an operator that allows you to "include" a file which contains a list of com...

UNVERIFIED SPAWN REVOKE script

If you've been to silvercat lately, you may or may not have noticed a admsg stating that the server will kick unregistered players to make room for registered players. You may be wondering how we do that. Well, in the interest in encouraging players to register (the goal is to go register-only to di...

The reason I tried those things is because there was a problem in the current CVS (I posted the fix in this thread) We used bzfscron for a couple days with mild success. This is an excellent idea, and I look forward to it continuing. We had a couple of unusual problems, and because of that, have pul...

There are currently some plugins in CVS, however I don't see much in the way of documentation that explains what each plugin does and how to use it.
